  • Hi, when you connect any type of external "Monitor" to your computer, the computer have to recognize that a "different" Display is attached! To "Display the (TV Monitor), do the following; (right click) on an empty area of the Desktop, in the next [window] select the "Personalize Icon." Choose from the "listings" Display Settings, next click on the Identify Monitor [button]. You need to select the (Number 2 Monitor), this will identify any other device connected to the computer. Acknowledge the device connected to the #2 Monitor; is it the TV? If so, give a try, and hope the solution helped, if so take the time to give a "Helpful Rating, I appreciated it, thanks!

I've connected by Dell Latitude D620 VGA to my HDMI LCD TV but there nothing displaying on the TV

Try lowering screen resolution on TV. There is a chance your video card can't handle HD like 1080 dpi or higher. Plus make sure TV input is set to VGA.

No problem, wondering if I'm able to connect this TV to my laptop to connect to the internet and if so what do I need to do this.

Yes, you should be able to. You will need to buy a $20 adapter. Sewell Direct sells them, also Amazon.com. They are called VGA to RCA composite video converter. This will convert your laptop's VGA output to RCA composite video for connection to your TV yellow video input. Connect an audio cable from laptop's earphone output to the TV's RCA audio inputs (white and red) using a 3.5mm to RCA adapter cable available at Radio Shack for about $10. This will work. You can see everything that the laptop displays on the TV. You can even hookup a VCR to record it all.

How do I get LG Plasma TV 42PQ30 to work with a dell laptop in connection use of a VGA/SVGA video cable. Thw hook up should act as a plug and play if my understanding is correct. I am using the RGB IN(PC)...

well, if the cable and adapters are friendly (meaning, you are able to plug the right video connection from LT to TV), sometimes you need to tell you LT that you have a second screen to output video. To do that, there should be a display icon in your bottom-right taskbar. Double click, and you should be able to see the options to either clone, pan, or primary your second display screen. :D

Laptop to tv

Your model laptop has S-Video out capabilities. Depending on what model TV you are connecting to, you would then need an S-Video to (whatever input connection your TV supports: S-Video, VGA, RCA, HDMI) cable. Once you have the cable connected, set your TV to the input method for the cable used, and press Fn + F4 on your laptop Keyboard to project the image over. May need tp press more than once depending if you wish to only display on one screen or both. S-Video is only a video out cable, so you will alos need to run an audio connector cable from your laptop to TV as well, or just use a pair of external laptop speakers for your sound.

Not able to connect my Acer Aspire 4720Z notebook to TV

You will need to change the TV's input select to S-Video to view your notebooks display. Remember S-Video is just that, Video and no sound. You'll need to patch the audio in via Audio In input on the TV if you haven't already?
