If it didn't do that before removing the capacitor & wires then I would assume it is something you have done wrong. Maybe put a wire back in wrong place. There is a wiring diagram on back of dryer. Motor not starting could be the capacitor, you really need to test it with a capacitor tester. It may also be the motor bearings seizing up. If motor is tight to turn when belt is off then it will be time for a new dryer. Too expensive to replace the motor on such an old dryer.
check the door switch,i don't work on lg but on any other dryer if the wsitch is broke the dryer won't start and if the light is on the switch shuts off the light and dryer will start.if you send the model number i can look up the switch for you.open the door and look around the frame where the door closes into, there should be a push button switch or a little paddle that the door hits, when you push in on the switch it should make a clicking sound or i've seen the paddle broke off.hope this helps or if you removed any wires to the door switch you might of wired it wrong
First, check the door switch. Push and release it by hand and you should hear a click. If no sound, replace the door switch with this part. If the switch is ok, press the cancel button on the machine. Then do this. press and hold the start button for 2 seconds then release wait 2 seconds and press and hold again for 2 seconds continue this pattern until the dryer goes into test mode. You will see all the lights on the control light up. press each button on the control one at a time 3 times each. (Do not press the cancel button) until the dryer begins to run. When the dryer starts to run then press the cancel button. Then your machine should function properly.
probably has a broken belt, there is what is called a "Broken Belt" switch by the motor inside on the idler pulley tensioner for the belt,if the belt breaks this switch opens so the dryer wont run without the drum turning so as not to overheat and burn your clothes, replace the drum belt and you should be good to go
if it's a humming sound the motor is bad or something is jammed keeping the motor from spinning.open the dryer door and move the drum by hand if the drum can't be moved the belt could be jammed on something or there's something stuck in the blower wheel.the blower wheel is behind the duct that the lint filter slides into.if you can move the drum then you most likely have a bad motor, try spinning the drum and push the door switch in and have someone else push the push to start button and see if the dryer will start,if the motor has a flat spot it could start like this.let me know what you find
Timer may need to be replaced. You can test it with an ohmmeter or test light. You can do the same with the push button. If you have more problems, then the main control could be faulty
