Hi, I have a NordicTrack Treadmill, A2050. When the unit is turned on, it has become very loud. The faster it goes the louder it gets. At higher speeds it sounds like it is going to explode. Any ideas? Is it the motor? I actually works fine, but it is so loud we can't hear anything while working out. Thanks for any tips!

Unplug unit then remove motor shroud then plug unit in then start treadmill your going to use a flat tip screw driver as a stethoscope. Now place the flat on the motor at edge close to the flywheel put your on the handle your ear and you should be able hear if the loud noise form the bearing if not, then repeat procedure on the other end by the fan if the noise is pin pointed on the motor then replace motor, if not originating from the motor the proceed to the front roller.
Use a flash light and observe and locate the font roller shaft so that you can comfortably rest the tip without it slipping on either end of roller.
As before repeat the procedure that was performed on the motor if noise originated their then replace roller if not proceed to rear roller.
Use you flash light and look the adjusting bolts where the end caps are the proceed to insert the screw driver and make contact with the tension bolts listen to each side.
You should locate noise with this procedure take your time and be careful

My a2050 motor runs & it inclines & goes back down. it will not let me walk.

Hi Kathy, yikes....does this constantly go up then down then up then down? There are a couple possibilities, 1) the upper console has gone goofy and is sending odd signals to the MCB, or motor control board, or 2) more likely, the MCB has a fault(s) causing the constant lift/decline. There is usually a protection circuit which allows ONLY one direction at a time with all lift assemblies to ensure the Up and Down windings are not energized at the same time, which would cause large amounts of smoke and a torched lift system, so it is possible that the MCB could cause this behavior. You can contact jatinah electronics and ask them, they can usually test your MCB for the cost of sending it there and back, and if a problem is found, they will advise you with repair costs which are 75 for this style of unit anyway. If they find no trouble, it zips right back to you verified good, for the cost of the shipping and time to send it in. No hidden gotchya's or fee's. Good Luck!

Loud treadmill motor

First get down and listen to where the noise is coming from, is it from where the motor is, or the rollers at each end of the treadmill? There may be dirt or hair stuck in some rotating part, or it may be the motor bearings wearing out.

NordicTrack Treadmill A2050, Will not work or turn on.

1) test the outlet wall , put a desklamp and see if work, if work the problem will be in the machine,
2) test the fuse inside for blown and replace with the same capacity
3) reset the circuit breaker inside.
4) test the power cord for open or defective.
Try again, if the machine NOT work, the problem will be in the power supply see the block atached.
God bless you

Hello I have a Nordic Track A2050 treadmill and it has worked flawlessly till today, The unit was open (unfolded) and I wanted to close it because I nearly killed myself tripping over it, so I turned it on...

Hello there, The machine is attempting to do an incline calibration. Keep the unit lowered as you have it, reinstall the safety key, allow the unit to go all the way to the top and then all the way to the bottom. The machine will stop when at the bottom and the screen will go back to normal. The machine will not overtravel the incline motor and damage it. Just let the calibration finish the procedure and you will be fine.
Good Luck! Tim
FYI this will happen anytime the safety key is removed while the incline is moving on nordictrack brand machines.
