Goto your local Radio Shack or computer shop and ask if they know of any repairers in the local area. Chances are they have someone from such a place they supply equipment or parts to.
If you were in Australia I could do it in a flash.

Hope it helps =)

Blue wire sparking into fitting how do i take the monitor apart for me to change the wire

Hi

I would strongly recommend that you do not attempt such a repair.

Even when disconnected from the mains electricity, the internal parts of monitors and TVs are dangerous working environments unless you are experienced. These devices contain large number of capacitors (electrical storage units) that retain a very high electrical charge, easily capable of inflicting serious shocks and electrical burns and that are even capable of killing someone.

You do not say which cable type is involved, but since you imply that the cable is fixed to the monitor, this would seem to be an older, VGA or DVI cable. VGA and DVI cables are multi-strand cables that have to be soldered in the correct complicated configuration and are not conducive to amateur repair attempts.

If the cable is not permanently fixed to the monitor, then simply replace the cable.

I strongly recommend you either refer this repair to a monitor or TV repair specialist.

Because of the reasns listed above, I also recommend you stop using this monitior, because the sparking could pose a fire hazard.

Most monitor repairs are uneconomical. So it may well be that you end up buying a new monitor with a detachable cable, where if the cable develops a fault, all that needs to be replaced is the cable.

Hope this helps.

Crt monitor gives only yellow colour

hi this is due to some internal fault like ur capacitor might have burnt or due to failure of picture tube i recommend u to show ur monitor to a monitor or T.V repair shop rather than repairing yourself because it's hazardous so take ur monitor to some repair shop and also check ur warranty and get it repaired. was this helpful to u if yes please do rate my solution.

Vertical line on my moniter. i have complaint to the customer service but didnot got any responce.please help

unfortunately, this is a defect that is very prevalent in LCD monitors. Sometimes applying pressure to certain areas of the screen will cause the symptom to disappear. Attempting to repair this is not recommended and should be done only be someone who is highly skilled at monitor / television repair. If the monitor is still under warranty I would recommend getting it replaced. Otherwise you may be better off just purchasing a new monitor as the cost to fix this problem may very well exceed the original cost of the monitor.

Turned on the monitor this morning and it would not come on. Several tries, no luck. The 'on' light flashes green/red together. Bought 12/07. Can you help? (I've borrowed a friend's monitor to contact...

If you are to DIY repair, please read below so you will at least know what to look for.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor is taking forever to load

Thats all normal... sounds like a signal interface problem, You may be able to fix it, but you will need a soldering iron, solder, a meter, the service manual & time, First step get a service manual, then check if your power supply voltages are correct and work out from there. It is NOT easy, I have been doing this all for over 30 years and never the same fault twice. professionally I recommend a new one, or why not take it in for repair, ask for a "Quote" for repair, and then you can make an informed decision as to repair or replace...

Monitor only lights for a couple of seconds

These monitors have problems with bad capacitors, transistors and inverter boards. This is a common problem with all monitors. If you are comfortable taking the monitor apart, you should inspect the capacitors to see if any are swollen. If they are, you might try replacing them. If you are not comfortable with taking it apart I would recommend taking it to a reputable repair person. If it is capacitors or transistors, the repair could be cheaper than a new monitor. If it is the inverter board, depending on the cost of the inverter board, it mat be cheaper to just get a new monitor.

When turned on, monitor power light comes on for a moment and then goes out. Monitor eventually comes on after several minutes. The same happens if the monitor is left on but goes into sleep mode.

This is a common problem on these monitors. There are three or four capacitors in the power supply, three on the inverter board and anywhere from 2 to 6 on the main board that go bad.

The number on the main board depends on how long the monitor has been having problems before it was serviced. The longer the wait, the more capacitors will have gone bad.

The power and inverter boards are easy to repair, the main board is not. As mentioned, it is a multi layer board so removing the old capacitors and the old solder can be troublesome. I would suggest you have someone experienced at soldering repair the main board.

Btw, our shop would charge $60 labour plus $2 for each capacitor.

Dell flat screen monitor does not come on after

Sounds like a capacitor on the power strip inside the monitor is failing.
The cost to repair can run $400.00. A tv repair shop may be able to fix it, but most technicians recommend buying a new monitor.
However, if you are experienced in electronics, you can disassemble the monitor and replace the capacitor. Radio Shack sells them for between $15 to $20.

Monitor is going out...

hello
I am a technician-informatic. I have repaired about 80 Lcd Samsung monitors with theese problems. I offer the repair manual.
Manual has been done with the experience of the repairing Samsung Lcd monitors. Manual was made by me and shows how to open monitor, how
to solve dark screen problem, how to check and replace capacitors, how to solve the problem non-optimal mode (without reprogramming MCU or
changing the main board) photo are included. 100% functional. The repair process is very simple 30-40min. (does not need a lot of
experience in electronics and expensive instruments) and is not expensive. With this manual you can solve problems by yourself and save
money.

"Not Optimum Mode 1280x1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on but turns off by itself, the LED blinks green.
- If you detach from the PC points to "control cable" the picture runs continuously in the vertical direction or presents while line , and
as soon as it is reconnected, the monitor goes off.
- The monitor does not turns on and dont dispaly anything, the LED blinks green-lit, if you detach from pc points to "control cable".
- The monitor turns on, works well some time, but after a window apiers "Not optimum mode. Mode recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on, works well only with low resolution 800x600, when try to change a window that reads "Not optimum mode. Mode
recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"

the manual you can find on ebay (my ebay name is asnerejas123):
