LCD screen keeps freezing

I no idea how I got this question I have not got a HD TV let alone smart. Is the format compatible on them both ?.I can not help apart from that sorry .??

the electronics are failing after it has got warm. Replace the TV.

The power button is on the back of the LCD screen in the lower left hand corner. You should power down by clicking on the Apple Logo in the upper left hand front corner and choose "Shut Down". If your screen freezes, you can power off by pushing the power button and holding it.

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Sounds like the problem is with channel 9. Is it an HD channel? Are you using cable, satelite or an antenna?

The unit has an auto detection circuit to determine what signal is being input, it then processes it, however if the signal is altered (different channel) the TV will at times try to process it through the wrong resolution circuit causing problems. Change the input of the TV and then change it back and it will redetect the 720p instead of the 1080i and display it properly. Check with Sony for possible updates.

You need to take this back if you have the option. The picture freezing lets us know that the data stream is stopping. It will not work right again and it was just coincidental that you uses a diffrent kind of dvd.
