And reboot after the install is done.

Microsoft has there own free antivirus program:

Please uninstall any old antivirus program, before you install
Microsoft Security Essentials.
The program is not useing so much of the pc`s memory to operate.

Your windows version must be valid, to use Microsoft Security Essentials .
