LG Intello 7KG Washing Machine

Model - WM-1371 FHB

Fault Code OE
Pump not running / not pumping out - stops half way through cycle (before spin but after wash).

If run from Rinse / Spin - OK until pump out.

From LG Manual:

OE : Drain Hose is Kinked or clogged or The Drain Filter is clogged - Clean and straighten the drain hose / clean the drain filter.

BUT!!

It isn't blocked - am looking at the pump next!!

Cheers John

Thanks for your help, which I picked up after I had fixed the machine, but which was never the less most helpful, and right!!

To get at the pump easily, you have to turn the machine upside down - don't hesitate unless it is still full of water ;-)

Pumps go regularly so there should be a fairly quick and easy way to remove/replace it - don't simply start undoing every screw you see. there will be some quick release clip and a couple of screws. You will also have toi detach the hoses - watch out for those super tensile hose clips - I used Mole Grips, judiciously adjusted.

Pump comes apart easily (3 screws) clean it out thoroughly taking care not to get water into the electronic bits!!

Remove **** (mine had a 6" piece of thick black cord wrapped around the impellor) reasemble and hey presto!!

    Cheers John

You may have some articles that made their way into the pump housing. Alot of times I see dimes get stuck in the ports of the pump, remove and check out thoroly and also check hoses coming to pump for little son of a gun articles that like to hide.

LG washing machine, WM 1371(6)FHB, 7 years old, sounds like main bearing on the way out. Is it economical to repair? I'm mechanically/electrically competent.

Some of the LG washers have a 10 year warranty on the motors and your issue could be fixed for free by LG if your problem is the motor.

Open the door of the washer and spin the inner tub fast and listen to find out if you hear a bearing or if it is the motor.

If the bearing is bad, labor and parts would be around $490 - $700. This is a major repair because the bearing is sold with the back half of the outter tub assy. So, you just cannot replace the bearing.

If its the motor, call LG about a posible warranty repair.

Good luck.

My lg 7KG 1405F model in does not complete the washing cycle stops at rising (oe) is the code

OE is drain error, which means that the machine has detected that the water level is not lowering quickly enough...Probable cause is a blocked pump filter...Check via small door at floor level..Unscrew pump cover and clear filter....Remember that all water will drain from this point, so drain machine first...Leaning the machine back can help...Good luck....Nomess

The washer does not go into the spin cycle

if it gives you an oe code then your filter is blocked or bad water pump clean out filter at front of washer (bottom left corner)

Code error

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

For LG WM2233HW, Error Code OE. Already check drain hose and filter, all clean. Try different cycles, TUB CLEAN, SPEED WASH. Same error code. No drain.

Replace the water pump. Because the water can not pump out, the machine idles for a while then stops with the error code OE. The technician said, the drain hose should be hang high before curse down to the drainage so air can not go to the hose.

LG Intello wm-1460FHD stops spinning during the wash load.

OE is a drain error (indicating the machine has not drained out in under 10 minutes). If the drain pump is not coming on at all then you have a bad drain pump motor. If it is trying to drain then you may have a clogged up drain hose. The most likely cause is a bad drain pump motor. Hope this helps.
