Nad C350 2 channel Amp continually in protection mode

Nad C350 2 channel Amp continually powers up into protection mode only. Is this something like the C370 amp with dried out capacitors on the protection PCB?
Thanks

That could indeed be the issue, but you must check your speakers, wiring, and also the oupt stages for problems. Maybe the prtection circuits are actually doing their job. lol

Hope that helps...

I OWN A NAD M 25 ---7 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER. I AM USING 4 CHANNELS TO BIAMP MY SPEAKERS. ONE OF THE UNUSED CHANNEL IS SHOWING A RED PROTECTION LIGHT.THE BIAMPED CHANNELS ALL WORK FINE ...I HAVE CHECKED ALL...

The manual would suggest you have a problem.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Try unplugging all of the speakers and see if that amp is still distressed. If it looks clean and happy start adding speakers until it returns (or not).

NAD T752 Hi, When powering up, about 4 second after, the amp turn in protection mode. Nothing is connected to the anp and it is clean from any metal dust. I found one transistor to be very hot. It's...

It could be entering protect mode because it has no speakers wired to it, have you tried connecting to all 6 speaker - out connections. Often, if an amp can't detect a load on all 6 channels it won't work. Also, have you checked the thermal fuses? a blown fuse could cause this problem.

Nad C370

Since the problem seems to be sensitive to the volume level, I would be looking at the output wave form for any DC current. Although the protection circuit should detect any DC present, it is possible that some is leaking through. Also, verify that the speaker impedence is correct. If the amp is seeing too low an impedence load, it will work too hard causing excessive heat which will shutdown the unit as well.

Keep me posted.

HELP PLEASE. NAD 370 JUST DIED...

This could be as simple as a bad connection at the voltage regulator IC or blown output transistors. If you have a multimeter and some experience with electronics repair, this should be fairly straightforward.

Let me know and I'll try to walk you throught the repair.

NAD C370 Right channel distortion

Sounds like you have lost the power amp transistor(s) or IC for this channel.

Cuts out when volume increased

it went to protection mode check your cables first and then check your speakers-and confirm no cable touch each other(try with another speakers had same rating)(watt)--means how much power can get.

Climbing DC offset then protection mode

Hi there

Firstly, check for conductive hold down glue about the output stages. This can cause the problem you have. Or there may be a failing component somewhere in the output stage of that channel. Check for leaky transistors, diodes an capacitors. You will need to remove semiconductors to check for leakage, If you dont have alot of experience faultfinding amplifier power stages, I suggest you take it to a NAD authorised service center.
