I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.

check the loose blower wheel and lint in the filter housing phenom associated with these dryers. The operator coils will get hot and quit and cool down after several hours and work again making it imposible to pinpoint a solution. Replace those coils. $20 bucks.

Hi all,
I found the answer by myself which maybe help for somebody if you have the same problem or something else. On my Maytag, I opened 4 screws on top and 2 screws on back of top metal plate. I found the instruction sheet troubleshoot problem. It tells you how to enter service mode, diagnostic test, membrane pad check, & diagnostic code...v.v.depended on your Maytag 13 key membrane or 15 key membrane, it is a different key pad to enter. My code is 08_short key. I used Ohm meter to test membrane pad at j7 connector_ok; then, put back to run the membrane pad test is ok too; I resit cables; then, clear the code. it is working fine now. The j7 connector of membrane maybe loose or membrane stuck before. but, at least I know how to diagnose if it has problem agian.
Best regards,
Don
