I can take that a couple of ways. Do you mean you want to fire more balls per second or you want the paintballs themselves to fly faster?

If you want to fire faster, make sure it's clean and properly lubed with a quality oil that made for paintball. Practice makes perfect and fire that ****** as often as you can, even without paint (that's cheaper!) so you can get your trigger finger in shape.

There are custom mods to the trigger, or you can buy a trigger that's smoother or a shorter pull. There are electronic trigger assemblies that make firing faster even easier.

If you're talking about making the balls fly out of the gun faster, that would be the "velocity adjustment". Your user guide shows you how to make that adjustment and which direction is up, and which is down.

A good suggestion is to check out a local field or paintball store, or an airsmith and they can give you some definite ideas you will want to pursue.

Good luck!

I have a used custom 98 ACT platinum. When i fire it , it goes full auto. My speed is at 270 fps. What do i do?

Buy a oil for a few dollars made specifically for paintball. Put a few drops in the ASA(where the tank screws in) screw the tank in and try to fire it about 10 times. If the gun still goes FA or sputters, I highly recommend having it serviced by a local pro shop or Tippmann.

I was playing today and my 98 custom just started leaking CO2 from all the cracks it froze up and ice started coming out of the barrel. what happened and how can i fix it??

your tank loosened up, the co2 freezes the rubber seals they will have to be replaced, you can order a repair kit from the website, change out all the rubber seals on the gun and your co2 tank

Inconsistent velocity, and my velocity adjuster doesn't seem to be working

This is caused when a gun needs cleaning and-or O-rings are worn.
Tear down the gun and clean the lube with the special paintball gun oils
and reassemble. See if it is better. CO2 is terrible for paintball guns.
Go with HPA (High Pressure Air, aka Nitrogen) and this will help.

My Tippmann 98 Custom ACT will not fire higher than 190 fps regardless of how I adjust my velocity screw. Do I need a new power tube set up?

Well, the power tube probably isn't the problem. I'd make sure your marker is clean, and lubed with a good oil made for paintball.

Next, inspect the spring. Any kind of kink or damage will affect performance.

Also, make sure you're testing it with a full tank.. don't let low air pressure skew your diagnostics.

Good luck!

Paintballs will fall out of the barrel of my tippmann 98 custom, randomly when the gun is not being fired. I am not sure how to fix this, or if it can be fixed. Mechanically the gun fires and aims great....

Get another ball detente from ebay, this one is the cheapest one I could find.
