Unless you see more red dots, this kind of "defect" is under specifications for this size of PDP, if you do not like it, the PDP module must be changed

Blue dots on black images

I can tell you that I had my plasma screen replaced in the 4th year. The tech told me that the replacement panel was much more reliable. You may be looking at replacing the plasma panel...(which may be more expensive than replacing the whole unit??).

Lines on a plasma tv

Vertical lines on the screen is almost always a drive board. This is part of the plasma panel. I don't think you will want it repaired.

HP-R5072 50 in. HDTV Plasma Television Samsung Plasma TV is snowy/dotted. When I turn it

Most likely it sounds like a Logic Board problem. The Logic Board is what controls images on the screen. It's a somewhat expensive part to replace. Maybe in the $200 range. Being that the part isn't cheap, best to have a TV tech come to your house to take a look at the TV to confirm the diagnoses before buying the replacement part.

Samsung Plasma TV

from the model number you have a 42" set,,the v_set and v_scan voltages need to be set 15vdc lower..this should take care of it,,if not then the plasma panel is bad

Red Dots

You can get rid of the red dots by adjusting the V-scan voltage down, it's on the panel sticker inside the unit, you can find the test point on the DC to DC pcb, and the adjustment pot is on the same board, lower it as you watch the screen and only lower it enough to rid the screen of the dots

Red Dots on My Plasma.

Did you get this problem resoslved? I had the same issue a few months ago. I tech came by and took my TV to the shop, a few days later he said it was fixed as they needed to make some adjustments.....The TV has been fine up until a week or so ago and now the red dots have appeared again. Was wondering what happened to yours.
