Upper feeder tray copies work fine, main feeder does not print, makes odd noise

When trying to make copies we have to use the upper feeder tray. The main feeder tray sends out a blank page and makes a strange noise. No error lights are on.

Please help.

    Let me understand this one.
When you are making copies, and use the bypass feeder on the left side of the machine you get print on the page, But if you use the bottom main tray you get a noise and a blank piece of paper out? No jam, no print??
Am I really understanding this properly?

Found the answer.
Problem:
Wide blank area on Lead Edge, or Misregistration possibly accompanied by noise. The noise may be described as a clicking, buzzing noise while making copies. The noise may stop for short periods while making copies. Cause:
The registration Sol. pawl is not capturing the clutch to keep it from turning. This is caused by the Registration Sol. return spring being out of position, or when installing the Main Drive Assy., the pawl is "trapped" in the actuated position. Solution: Free the Spring, by rotating it. Ensure that the Pawl moves freely in and out, and engages with the clutch.

    Another possibility

Customer wants to send print job to the copier / printer using the single sheet bypass tray as the paper source. Paper or envelope is fed through the single sheet bypass tray and is blank.

    Cause:

The machine Customer programmable Paper Tray Bypass Auto Start is enabled causing the sheet to feed into the machine as in a copy mode.

    Solution:

Change the Customer programmable Paper Tray Bypass Auto Start feature to off. After that you will need to turn the machine off and on before it will print

Put A4 in upper tray error

Change the printer properties to use paper from the automatic feeder tray. And, unless you are in Europe, you probably don't want to specify A4 paper. Try "letter" or some other size.
The manual is at this URL. See page 49 http://www.manualslib.com/manual/113847/Oki-B4545-Mfp.html

The paper partially feeds in the upper tray and then you hear a grinding noise and it says scanner failure

clean the rollers
Used a clean paper
Open the area the paper feeds in on the scanner
lift the roller
without paper try to make a copy
press the flag-like hardware part on the ground portion of the scanner feeder
then forcefully put the whiteroller to the ground as if its trying to make a copy without the paper
to test if its working fine while you are pressing down the flag structure on the ground area also do it 2x

- wipe the rollers
- specially the one that feeds up the paper
try to scan again
- in case no go
= remove all removable parts
paper, cartridges ,black box and power supply
lift the printer turn it upside down makse sure the cover is open
so taht any foreign material will fall
shake it for 5x
return all the parts
- in case no go
have a printer repair on your area
usually its only on the rollers

- Hope it help

Will not feed from lower tray. upper feeder works fine

If you have a error code on display please respond. I can give you more detailed information.

If not, make sure that the print job that you are sending to the printer is for the same size paper that is present in the paper tray. Also, check that the tray is adjusted properly to the size for the paper that is present.

You could try running an internal print job to bypass the settings.

Copying from upper tray - line on the copy - good copy but has a solid thin line, about the size of the roller.. -- copying from glass is fine..--if it is the roller ! how do I clean upper roller and etc....

hello, you said this was a copy, have you tried making copy from the glass, and not thru the doc feed, just to see if the output us the same. if not, open up the doc feed area, and clean the **** glass. now if your prints from the computer are the same as the copies, then its possible that the problem is pressure rollers above the ashpalt grey platten roller. alittle harder to clean but can be cleaned off.

My hp 2100 laserjet makes a sqeeking noise when it begains to print as if it is a roller, it works fine from the upper single feed with no noise please advise. Thanks

This could be caused by a worn and shiny paper seperator pad in the cassette tray 2.It sits at the front in the middle of the tray

All of a sudden, faxes stop coming out and the window says something to the effect...''Place US Paper in Upper Tray''. If I turn the machine on and off, the display clears and faxes that are in memory...

The fax machine is trying to print fax recieved copies on the bypass feeder.
Check up the setup menu on the control console.
Fine fax recieve.
You should find a selection for fax recieved in which paper tray.
Check this area, any that have the bypass feeder, de-select it.
Make selections for 8 1/2 x 11 paper in tray one.

I have a brother copier model dcp 7025 and am experiencing a vertical line on copies where the original is fed through the top feeder tray but the copies are fine when the original is placed directly onto...

Depends which way is vertical but I think the feed rollers on the upper tray are slipping perhaps dirty. (The paper momentarily stops feeding past the scan sensor)

Will not copy

If the paper isn't feeding in the ADF (automatic document feeder - upper paper feeder) then the ADF roller assembly will need to be replaced. Try a copy on the flat glass area. If it work, then it's the ADF, If not then the upper scanner assembly with have to be replaced.
