Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

SOURCE: Canon Powershot A570 keeps showing change the batteries

I had the same problem. Here's the solution. Go into menu settings, then over to tools, select reset all at the bottom of options list. You may have to re-enter the date and time. This solved the low battery problem for me. I hope this helps.

How do you take out a memory card from canon powershot A570 IS?

Open the card slot cover and push down gently on the edge of the card as if to push it further into the camera. The card will pop out a bit, allowing you to grasp it and pull it out all the way.

Canon Powershot A570 IS Problem- Photos deleted when new folder was created?

I would seek professional advice, there is recovery software out there that are very good, you have tried two, if there is any chance to recover more you need to talk to someone that is experienced in these matters. Best buys may be able to help and worth a try, a camera repair store would be another option.

Unable to connect my Canon PowerShot A570 IS to my Thoshiba Satellite.Laptop doesn't detect the camera. It was working fine before my laptop got a virus infection. I reinstalled the program using the...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

The memory card on my Powershot A570 IS is locked. I have changed batteries @ memory card with no success.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Camera says new batteries are dead

I found out how to fix it. (STEP 1.) Take out all of the batteries. (STEP 2.) Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. (STEP 3.) Put the batteries back in and you should be all set.
