I have a Maytag Neptune MDE5500AYW electric dryer. Lights on control panel work fine. Can change settings and all lights change as usual. Nothing unusual with the dryer door. Bottom push in still there and at the side of the dryer door, the prong looks fine and where the prong goes in looks fine.
Have flipped the breaker and tried it again to no avail. Any ideas? Any suggestions MUCH appreciated!
Inside the control panel is a tech sheet that has some diagnostics on it . there is a membrane button test or something to that effect. I suspect that the start/pause button is the problem and you would need to replace the console w/touchpad.about $130-140 new. there are some used ones on ebay.

Are you saying dryer won't start? what happens when you push start? does the start/pause light go steady on?
With minutes showing as to the cycle length, you press start/pause and it does nothing. And the Start/Pause light continues to blink as if never pressed.
With minutes showing as if to start, you press the "start/pause" button and it does nothing. Does not come on and the "Start/pause" button continues to blink.
Hate to ask, but how do I get inside the control panel?
I see no screws when looking at or down at the control panel. Perhaps in back but I need to have someone pull my dryer out where I can see back there.
