There is a key in the bottom that has number 2 on it . Turn the key over to number1 and slide the button under the battery cover if needed from a to b or vise versa

Sanyo TV Code for Dish remote 21.0 IR/UHF PRO only operates TV Power and Volume Functions.

Hello Witt Thomas,

I can understand the concern and wanting the remote to work the TV Menus. It is possible with our remotes, however it depends on the TV itself. I've seen instances where there are 2 TV's in one house, and 1 will do it, while the other won't.

If you have tried all of the remote codes, and none work, the only other options we have available are to try a powr scan, or teach the remote. This link http://www.mydish.com/support/teach-learning-remote-20-21 can provide the steps on how to teach that model of remote control!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

#1 remote in IR Mode, #2 remote in UHF mode, dual HD receiver model 722; #2 remote works perfectly, #1 remote works for a while then stops working. Have to hold the remote within an inch of the IR on the...

bp22911,

It sounds like it may be an interference issue with the IR. Some LCD TV's can cause interference with an IR signal which will cause problems with the remote. Something you can try to fix is disabling the Auto Back-Lighting feature on the TV itself and see if that helps. If not, the easiest way to fix would be to make the TV1 remote UHF.

This would require a 21.0 remote as a 20.0 is IR only. Look on the back of the remote at the top to see what model you have.

With a 21.0 go to System Information. On the back of the remote inside the battery cover is a switch that says IR And UHF and make sure the green 1 is showing. Flip it to UHF and press Record 3 times. The Primary Address should now have UHF in it. Try the remote and see if it works.

If it doesn't or you continue to have problems you can post here or email me at [email protected]

Hello, this is Becki Barned, with DISH Network customer service. For this issue, since you have already replaced the remote and have the 5 foot coax cable on the antenna, then at this point, we would want to send a tech out for you. The technician can determine if this is an issue with the receiver box, or can set up a back feed for you. I can help you out with this issue further. You can e-mail me at [email protected] .

jholsinger1,

It sounds like this is TV 1 that you are having this problem with the remote, is that correct? What has changed from when the remote was working till now? Was anything moved like the TV/receiver? You may have some type of interference with the UHF signal. Without getting more specific information, I'm generalizing the trouble shooting steps. Would you clarify if it's TV 1 or TV2. Please post to this site and I will respond back to you.

My remote control only works for tv on & off and volume but not to change dish channel

I experienced this problem as well. I have a dual receiver and had issues turning channels on TV2; but counld easily access the volume. After reading the Dish manual, I learned that my TV1 and TV2 remotes connect through different signals (IR = infrared for TV1; and UHF= ultra-high frequency for TV2).

Check your remote to see if there is a UHF logo at the very bottom (under the Dish Network logo). The UHF remote sends ultra-high frequency radio signals to a UHF antenna which is connected to the back panel of the receiver. Make sure that you receiver is properly dusted and then check to make certain that the UHF antenna located on the back of the receiver is positioned straight-up. When the antenna is not correctly positioned it can cause problems with your remote signals.

I threw my dish remote against the wall and a small white piece of plastic jumped out after falling apart? how do i fix it?

If you have a IR/UHF remote then the littel white peice go to the switch that tells the remote to send UHF or IR signals. This little white peice will fit on the end or the green board at teh very bottom of the remote, it will slide into place allowing the colored tab to move it back and forth to enable and disable UHF and IR frequencies. These remotes are built very tough, i would say you threw it pretty hard lol. You may need a replacment if you continue to have issues.
