FinePix F420 stopped

Have a Fuji Finepix F420 that has had no accidents or falls. One day I figured out that it works only in Play mode but do not take picture or record video.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. no fall or accident but problem is same. i think it is common problem on finepix f420 and fuji has to find a solution for it. the guarantie of the camera expired and after that the problem happened. fuji has to repair them for free because the source of the problem is the machine. so it is fuji. not us !!!

All you can try is to remove the batteries, wait for about 5 minutes the replace them.
If it's not working, it seems to be a problem either at the CCD/CMOS sensor, or at the lenses zoom mechanism.

Hi there, First of all i like to say its a problem of your lens guide pin. Its happens during dust or drop down camera or lens pressed by turn on mode. Just try this.
1. Turn on the camera and make it camera mode then clean the external lens area & make sure there is not dust or any scratch. 2. Reset the camera and remove the memory card. Now turn on the camera with out the card and see the result. If not success then let me know. Thanks.

Photo brightness

Hello Jrmb,
I would like to know what mode are you clicking these photos in.. because overexposure is due to either slow shutter speeds or large aperture. Try setting the camre mode according to the surrounding light conditions.. for example, no need of flash when you are clicking pictures in broad day light, instead of setting the camera on Auto mode, try using Portrait mode for short distance (5 to 6 meters away) objects etc..
Let me know if that fixes the issue.

And important .. Do not forget to rate the solution :)

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

Chinese Digital camera(finepix f420)

i have the same - no solution i'm afraid as this is a problem with the memory on the camera, rather than something which can be set in the service mode
