There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Cannon powershot sx10 is memory card problem

Assuming that the battery is good in the camera and that it will power OK othewise, then this is most likely a memory card problem.

Locate the problem to either the card or the camera, please:

1. try the card in another device, such as a computer with a card reader or another camera.

2. try the camera with a different card that is known to be good and that has been properly shutdown before removing from the previous device.

If the card works in another device then the problem is the camera and given the age, it probably needs to be replaced.

But if the camera works with a different card then the problem is the card and it probably has been corrupted. Try replacing it.

Canon powershot sx10 cannot download

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.

My canon powershot sx10 stoped working suddenly. I tried with new set of batteries but even then it is not switching on... can you help me troubleshoot this issue.?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

My canon sx10 says memory card error with two red 0s to bottom

Assuming you've not done so already, my thoughts are to try another memory card to see if it still reports the same fault.

If no, you first memory card has a problem. If yes, there's a problem with your camera.

If its the camera may I suggest you check the Canon web site, follow links to support and or downloads.

There may be a firmware upgrade for you camera which solves the problem.

Also on the website there may be a forum where someone has had and resolved the same issue. Failing that, you could always contact their tech staff and see if they can help.

How do you unlock the memory card on a canon powershot SX10is?

Remove the SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card in the camera. But if you've already tried this, see this link for additional things that you can try.

Memory card error when I put my sd card in. Pins don't appear bent

You might just need to format it in the camera. This will erase it so download any pictures first using a card reader if necessary.

plug your SD memory card directly into the computer your photos should still be on them unless your daughter chose the option to delete the originals.  There is no hard drive in the camera.
