Maytag freezer on bottom froze up (literally frost) and top fridge would not get cold...called repair man who came out and took of panel and defrosted with hairdryer but frozen up again !!! (after the $150 blow dry) Please helpme - i spent way too much money to have it fall apart on me only 15 months later!!!!
Your tech doesn't have the issue completely fixed. You have a defrost issue and defrosting manually is just the start to resolving your issue. You have to diagnose why it fails to defrost. You have a heater, control thermostat, frost sensor, etc. to check for a failure after defrosting it. Get someone that knows how to complete the job right!

SOURCE: drain iced up in freezer
the draining pipe is block with something, you can melt the ice with a hear drier or hot water, then put a wire true the pipe and after that, test the pipe again.
SOURCE: Maytag model MQU1556AEW, frost-free freezer forms ice in bottom.
I'm not sure if this will help but the freezer that is located on the bottom of my refrigerator started forming ice on the back part where the cold air was supposed to be coming out. I kept hearing a hissing sound like water dripping on a hot surface. I called the repair man in and he had to replace the defrost timer. Once he did that it worked like a charm.
I am not an expert by any means although removing ice from a frost-free freezer is a pain and this took care of the problem for me. Good luck!
SOURCE: freezer very cold, no air going into fridge it warm ANY SUGESTION
hi there,
check the blower fan inside evaporator, there is fuse on the back side of your refrigerator for cooling fan, check on this using multi tester if busted replace fuse.
SOURCE: We left the freezer door open accidently for 10
Hi, Check the rear panel inside the freezer and see if it has frost building up on it. If so, shut the refrigerator off for 24 hours or remove the rear panel and defrost it with a hair dryer.
It should be ok after that ubless the evaporator fan motor has gone bad.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: My Maytag msd2756geb freezer is too cold.
Hi,
You are probably right that it is always running. This is because the thermostat/sensor has gone bad. The fridge adjusts by a door that allows air to come from the freezer to the fridge side. Therefore this will still work...
You will need to replace or have the thermostat replaced....
