Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

I have an electrolux ewx1440w washer-dryer. It keeps stopping part way through wash cycle. Cycle pause light flashes and door catch releases allow you to be able to open door. Machine will not restart until it is switched off at mains and left overnight.

What is the probably cause of the fan turning itself on?

Keith, I am going to assume that this is happening shortly after you may have used the microwave and after sitting for a little while the fan comes on. The fan blows across the transformer and magnetron to help keep them cool. If there is not good air flow the fan will come on and run to get them cool even after the timer has stopped the cooking cycle. If this is a countertop type microwave I would suggest turning the microwave around and check the vent area where the fan is mounted and see if there is a build up if lint and dirt on the vent holes. If there is clean it off with a soft rag and hopefully that should take care of your issue. If this is an over the range microwave/range hood combo you will need to check your filters and probably clean or replace them. Hope this helps.

Machine goes thru all the wash cycle but gets to last min and keeps spinning then comes up with f11

Not knowing what sort of machine you have, one of these should help.

F11 - No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.

F11 - Pump cannot be activated - Book a washing machine repair.

F11 - Heater timed out. The heater has not reached the required level. Book a dishwasher repair.

F11 - No pump connection - Book a tumble dryer repair.

My machine never complete the washing cycle just stop and show Error 2 on display screen

Sounds like there is a blockage in the outlet pipe. Check the outlet is clear.

A little cleaning of the contacts might get that machine going. How about a repair manual?

It is stuck on wash cycle

The cycle select knob may need to be replaced, or u may have a bad solenid in your washer. If a solenoid is bad, it wont allow the washer to go past a certain point in the cycle.

Kenmore Elite HE 3t washer - stops and flashes error code F 02

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that you may have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system somewhere. The washer will NOT complete a cycle with the condition present that is causing the error code. In most cases this means there is a clog in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris and small articles of clothing can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

NOTE: The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.
