The sony cybershot screen is bright white with unclear images.

if it takes a picture then it is a broken lcd screen... if it does not then it is a broken sensor and lcd screen... with the menu not showing that has nothing to do with the sensor just the screen.

Something in the lens unit is broken. The unit can't be fixed but needs to be replaced with a new or unit unit. A new lens unit would cost about half the price of the camera though...

When did you get this message? It seems like you have set the White Balance of the camera wrong. Set it to Auto White Balance to eliminate this problem. Use Daylight White Balance when shooting in bright daylight so as to eliminate any color cast in the image.

Its known problem of ccd imager in DSC-T1 and can be fixed by replacing ccd imager.

Sony will repair it free of cost as per announced scheme of ccd imager problem in this model.

It seems that CCD Imager of your DSC-T1 got faulty. this problem is not replated to settings of cyber-shot.
Please go to nearest Sony service shop for replacement of defective part.

There is a problem inside the camera with the wire harness/cable connection to the screen. They are know to come loose over time. If you tap rather briskly on the front of the camera right on the word Cybershot it should reconnect it. Worked on mine but you may need to do it now & again. The altenative is to have the camera dismantled and the connector pushed back onto the screen.

Now a couple months later I have a different problem, it says to turn the power on and off again when I turn it on to take pictures.
