Brother HL-6050DN Printer gives "replace laser scanner unit" message on led.

I just got through this problem, The customer had a "refilled cartridge.
The Flag on the left side near the gearset of the Toner cartridge was not
brought back to the proper position, just undo the three srews and reset the flag.
works like a champ,. your welcome.

Press the "Go" and "+" switches together until the menu "RESET
PARTS LIFE" appears on the LCD display. Select the Drum Unit using the "+/- " switches, then press the "Set" switch

Change the FUSER UNIT.

Wrong driver?


I've seen Brother printers that won't print with a replacement driver of another Brother printer
(a common PCL5e driver always works -> HP Laserjet 4L)

Bad drum

(or sometimes: a little part of a previously jammed paper that blocks access of the laser beam to the drum)

press Go and Set at exact the same time

press < one time

press Set

choose "Nothing"

press Set again
