I have sound but no picture on my one 43 inch tv
Hi,
Normally it could be a lot of things, but most of the times is the backlight that goes off.
Turn the TV on, chose a channel and once you have sound and no picture try to look really close to the screen and see if there is an image there and just the backlight is OFF. (sometimes a dim ambient light and a flashlight pointing at the screen helps to see, try various angles until you can check if there is an image or not runing on the screen).
If you have image and no backlight, then depends on what type of LCD you have.
Backlight can be with CCLF lights (really thin flourescent lamps) or LED (horizontal led strips beyond the LCD panel).
Either way you will have to check the power source and probably dismantle the hole LCD screen witch is made from a few VERY SENSITIVE layers (they break quite easy, specially the first one, the LCD layer) and replace the lamps/led strips (all of them would be the best choice, but could get expensive).
You can find many tutorials on Youtube on how to do it, could be a nice 50$ to 100$ weekend project if you have experience with electronics, still a risky and possible dangerous one, remember TVs still have charge in them after unpluging them so if you dont have experience or knowledge about it, dont try it, leave to a professional.
Hope it helps
