On Spin cycle it continues filling up with water and when it starts spinning the water pours out of the top of machine. Also with Power failure or overload it continues to fill up with water and never empties itself out even when power goes off or dc indicator light shows. We have had a flood issue yesterday and today

We are talking about a FAV6800A or FAV9800A machine correct?

You will need the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

If so it sounds like you have a stuck Water Valve or a Pressure Switch malfunction that never signals the Control Board of wash tub water level. And or a possible drain pump/drain line clog. I don't think you have a Drain Line issue because you don't report an ND error code for no drain.

Are you up for troubleshooting to DIY the repair?

If you unplug the washer does water continue to flow which requires you to shut the water valve to the washer? If water doesn’t flow I would next step you through how to check that the Pressure Switch is signaling the Control Board to turn off the 120VAC to the water inlet solenoids on proper water level fill.

Before we go any further let’s hear back from you.

I own a FAV6800A and I'm very familiar with troubleshooting and resolving issues with both it and the LCD version the FAV9800A.........Rich

I have a Maytag Legacy SAV515 series top loader. Will fill with water, but will continue to agitate thru to end of wash without a spin, fill, rinse and final spin.

This machine has a 'Fill and Agitate' mode (no spin). So many programs on it! You may have a faulty timer, but due to the cost of those items, I suggest you get professional diagnostic advice. Try a power disconnect overnight. Spin the control dial one revolution and then reconnect power.

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine, won't start cycle

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.26912691&pathTaken=partSearch

Next, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Timer problem.

I'd use the troubleshooting section of the Service Manual and the timer testing procedures to confirm the problem.

Note that there are two types of timers with different procedures to remove them.

Also see the following for how to release the console for access to the timer and other controls.

During the spin cycle water pours continuously like fill cycle

This problem is commonly attributed to either a water inlet valve leaking by, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following link explains how to diagnose the problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753517-whirlpool_top_load_washer_fills_when_not

I've included parts sources (if required) and how to repair each problem. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Washer keeps filling w/ water, only stops when changed to spin

Your drain line is too low.
OR the drain line is restricting air where it enters the drain stand pipe.
Remove the drain line and hold it up high.
Turn the washer on to fill. It should fill then stop.
This example should explain what you must do to correct the drain line problem.

Maytag Neptune MAH-1 won't stop filling with water

A couple things may be going on here... you may not want to hear, but the Neptune has a had many "consumer related problems".

If your complaint is "will not stop filling with water" I would access your inlet water-valve (typically blue with 2 black battery looking solenoids; where your water-lines connect directly), test for continuity and replace as necessary. Sometimes inlet-water valves also go bad where the complaint is: "no water comes in at all".

Washer continues to work even if water is not filled to top and even if i try to stop continues to spin

A defective pressure switch can interfere with the cycles that depend upon the switch to indicate when water has filled or emptied from the tub. It can also result in underfilling or overfilling of the tub. The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle.
