Asko W6461 - will not drain

We have an Asko 6461 washing machine that is 5 years old. Today it has decided to stop at the first drain and refil.

The machine makes a loud humming noise and then switches off showing F3. We have checked the manual which says it is a water outlet fault.

We have checked that no objects are trapped and run the machine on spin with the drain undone, and water flows freely.

Any suggestions greatfully received

Thanks for the suggestion.

Having taken the machine out and the back off I removed the pump end with impeller which bless the Swedish was very simple. The outlet pipe appeared to have no hole being completely blocked.

A hard push of the index finger moved the object that finally turned out to be a UK 5p piece. The diameters are exactly the same with the 5p acting as a complete blank.

Removed the 5p, put the machine back and problem solved.

My Asko W6461 spins a great deal of vibration. I have tried to use smaller loads to stop it but it continues. Could it need releveling?

The "inside" of the machine should move pretty much during wash and spin, but if the whole machine is vibrating alot, it could be a levelling problem. Could also be a problem with the shock absorbers, but that is rather uncommon:)

Who do you set timer on asko 6461 washer?

the timer you are trying to set is for a delay start. so if you set the timer for 1 hr, the machine will start 1 hr later.

you may find the leak coming from the door seal or the soap drawer while it is filling,if you leen the machine back you will find two T20 screws under the front.you can get the book from asko.com.au

Asko washing machine won't drain.

Further on to this F3 problem I had the issue on model W6461. There is a short cut to the fix, instead of taking off the grey pipe from the drain pump (the hose clips are pre crimped in the factory so as stated above are difficult to remove) try this.
Stages as follows:
1) Open drain pump door (bottom left of machine).
2) Remove black pipe and drain residual water.
3) Unscrew coin trap and remove, use a container to hold the water.
4) Leave the container underneath and make sure you have some towels ready (I didn't at the time)
5) Where the washing machine drain hose connects to the outlet or U bend connector remove this and expose the end.
6) Blow into the drain hose as hard as possible......hopefully the blockage will clear through back the coin trap.

Result:
A large lump of sludge, three of my 5 year olds small counter coins and about a litre of water.

Just ran the machine now and fault cleared.

Good luck

Need new stabilizer clip/bolts for ASKO washer model W6461

Don't need those bolts except for shipping the washer. They were supposed to have been removed a long time ago.

My Asko 6461 washing machine - F3 code

F3 problem, I had the issue on model W6461, however, judging by the amount of F3 issues posted this could work on other ASKO models If the coin trap in the drain is clear of debris, try this. Stages as follows:
1) Open drain pump door (bottom left of machine).
2) Remove black pipe and drain residual water.
3) Unscrew coin trap and remove, use a container to hold the water.
4) Leave the container underneath and make sure you have some towels ready (I didn't at the time)
5) Where the washing machine drain hose connects to the outlet in the wall or U bend connector remove this and expose the end.
6) Blow into the drain hose as hard as possible......hopefully the blockage will clear back through the coin trap.
7) Pour some water into the open end and blow this back through the drain as well.

Result:
A large lump of sludge, three of my 5 year olds small counter coins and about a litre of water (all over the floor, don't forget the towels!)

Just ran the machine now and fault cleared.

Good luck

ASKO 1605

Hi Guys
My dishwasher this morning has desided to not work correctly.
Its a ASKO 1302 about 20 years old. It has been a very good machine.
Over the last couple of weeks during the washing cycle, the dishwasher has been making a loader noise than usual.
1. Today, the dishwasher timer, travels all the way through its cycle, but very little washing take place.
2. Soap power is still there, plates not clean!!!!
3. Water is hot
4. At the end of the cycle, there is no water in the dishwasher.
5. I'm thinking the problem could be the pump needs replacing.
What do you think?
