Panasonic plasma I have a panasonic plasma TV. The picture occasionaly will quickly fade out and go black. I unplug the TV for several minutes and turn the TV back on it usually works. When it fades out the power light on the front blinks red. Any suggestions how to fix and how much? Thanks

I have a 50" with the same problem. I HAVE TO UNPLUG the tv & plug it back in to turn it back on, then it will only stay on for a few more minutes before it does it again. Blinking red light while its off, & even blinks for a few seconds after I unplug it. The tv is only 2 months old!!! The tv is not misused or abused in any way. Not very happy about this...

Same problem. I have the TV for six months and it will do this. Sometimes I can get it to come back after 15-20 mins, other times its taken days for it to start up.
This TV really sucks. I've had a Sony Bravia 40" for 4 years now and its never had any problems of any kind.

If you open the back, look at the can shaped items. If any of them have the tops bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should solve your picture problem, unless there is something else wrong. What is happening,is they are heating up,and the picture goes out.I bet the longer you have the TV off,the longer it stays on?Hope this helps.Thank You very much! Color fading to black and red "nightvision" picture

Panasonic PT-47WX49E

The only thing I can think of that would make the picture fade to black is a loose solder joint on the filament supply. Each of the 3 picture tubes has a filament and if the 6.3 volt supply to those filaments is suddenly lost, the picture fades to black as the filaments cool down. An experienced tech can find and correct this for you quite easily.
