I have the same problem with my TV. I haven't verified this yet, but someone I know who's a electronics genius told me that its the buttons on the TV (power, channel, volume, etc.) He said at the factory many of the "button boards" were tightened too much and cracked. When you turn the TV on, the clicking noise is a loose connection. He said it's easy to replace yourself, and about 30 bucks on ebay. No promises though.

its the capacitor inside the tv open it up and you should see atleast 1 capacitor which has bulged ( looks like glue coming out of it ) usually a 3000 ~ you can replace these yourself no problem for around 10p each but i do warn you there is a chance you could lose your built in freeview in doing so!

My Philips flat screen tv model 50pfp5332d/37 I turned my tv on the blue light is on but nothing is on the screen it's making a clicking sound

It could be a power supply problem. In this model at least 2 capacitors, go bad in the power supply I think they're 1000uf/10V. If you look at the power supply board you will notice a bad cap with a blister on the top. The whole power board is from $100 - $200. I fixed a lot of these sometime the Y or sustain board goes bad. Visual inspection then measuring voltages..

Tv clicks blue light is on as if tv is on and no pitchure

Can you hear audio? It is possible that you may need to go to the philips website, download an update to a flash drive, plug the drive into the usb port on your tv then turn the tv on. it will load the update automatically... worth a try, it worked for me.

Philip plasma tv

My parents have a Philips 50PFP5332D/37 the blue indicator light is on but there is no picture or sound. Is there anything I can do to help them fix it outside of calling a tech. I can get parts and fix tvs but unfortunately I am in another state 7 hours aways.

Black screen

This denotes a power supply issue. I would venture to say that it is the part of the supply that controls the plasma ignitor if this is a plasma TV or if this is an LCD screen it is called the back-light and inverter circuit. The power supply board would be the chief culprit in this case.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
