Hi my canon pixma MX420 isn't scanning. I press all the riht buttons and it says its in progress and then stops and that's it. It wont come up on my computer screen and I cant find it anywhere in my computer. It is a new windows computer and the printer is all set up to the computer. Everything else works except the scanner.

    Thanks

How to install the pixma mp450 photo all in one software?

All the printer drivers for the Canon Pixma MP450 Printer are easily available on the Canon Website.

Here is the direct link: http://support-au.canon.com.au/P/search?model=PIXMA%20MP450&filter=0&menu=Download

I am unsure what operating system you are operating, but they are all there.

Once there, simply follow these steps:

1. Click the link, select [ Save ], specify "Save As", then click [ Save ] to download the file.
Note:
If you select [ Run ] ( or [ Open ] ) instead of [ Save ], the file will be automatically installed after it is saved.
2. The downloaded file will be saved in the specified place in the self-extracting form ( .exe format ).
3. Double-click the downloaded EXE file to decompress it, then installation will start automatically.

That should now have successully installed all your Printer Drivers.

Happy Printing. :-)

Scanner crops documents

Go to the official Canon website: www.usa.canon.com and redownload driver and MP Navigator. MP Navigator lets you choose the size of the scan you want. I was having the same problem and just fixed it today.

Scanner not Functioning

I had the same problem on my Mac.  I downloaded two things off Canon's website and all is now working:-
1) Scanner driver (ScanGear for Mac OR MP Drivers for PC) 2) MP Navigator software
Visit: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010249.asp  and choose your drivers.
Restart your machine (with the MP40 switched off) after downloading Switch on, and press Scan... et voila!
NOTE: after putting my Mac in slep mode, the scan button didn't function, but all I had to do was switch the MP450 off then on again for my Mac to recognise it.
Hope this helps!

Scanning with Canon Pixma MP450

I just did it then! With help from solution posted Feb 08 leave the acual scanner alone can be done from the computer. Steps:

1. Go to - start - control panel - printers & hardware - scanners.
2. Once inside the scanners folder just click once on the scanner icon (mine is called WIA Canon) so it is highlighted.
3. Then click on the toolbar 'File' > 'scan', then select the correct program from the list (mine was MP Navigator 2).
4. Use the MP Navigator program to select "scan photo/document", follow the instructions. At the bottom if the window that is open you can change the document type to PHOTO or DOCUMENT!

This is where the problem lies it is scanning the document as a photo which is why it is coming out as multiple documents.
