Panasonic Viera PC-to-TV Via VGA has Purple Tint

Purple Panasonic PC>TV Problem:
The VGA cable uses three primary color RGB channels.
Red, Green, and Blue.
The picture is made up of pixels or dots arranged in a grid along the "X" horizontal axis and "Y" vertical axis.
The computer mixes the intensity of each color channel to create a unique color per pixel.
All RGB at 100% creates white.
R+G creates yellow.
R+B creates magenta, ie purplish.
G+B creates cyan.
So a purplish tint sounds as if your Green wire has no signal, which may indicate a faulty VGA cable or VGA socket.
Put another way, (R+G+B)-G=R+B=magenta.
So try another VGA cable, spray all socket pins with "Servisol " or similar contact cleaner.
0%<--------->100%
Cyan<------->Red
Magenta<--->Green
Yellow<------>Blue
All 0%=Black; All 50%=Grey; All 100%=White.

The picture taken has purple wine lines across them and they are not clear. even if i just review the pictures or download on the system, it is still thesame thing.

Try transferring the picture with purplish tint to your computer and check if it looks the same.

If it looks the same, it is an image sensor problem and you will need to change your camera's main board which could cost more than buying a new digital camera.

Update me.

The color on my Toshiba 27A41 is not uniform and varies from the left (purple tint) to the right (green tint) with red tint in the center. Otherwise the picture is very good. How do I adjust the color so...

It may be that the degaussing circuit isn't working. This simple device should demagnetize the CRT each time the set is turned on. The circuit consists of a Varistor and the coil surrounding the front edge of the picture tube. The Varistor allows a surge of quickly declining current to flow through the coil to remove any buildup of magnetism that can cause the color problem you currently have. Varistors can fail since they have very low resistance cold and very high once warmed so the momentary power that they dissipate is fairly high and may cause them to fail over time.
You can roughly check the operation of the degausser by using a weak magnet near the TV screen to see the effect it has then turn the set off for 1/2- 1 hour, turn it back on to see if the error you caused with the magnet is removed. Don't use a strong magnet as that influence can take months to remove.

Purple Screen

If it is only 2 months old,then you still have warranty.
A purple lcd, viewfinder and photo is a 100% CCD failure.
If out of warranty, not worth the repair.

Switching from HD to Standard screen gets a pinkish/purplish tint in SD only

It is the cable box. Using the HDMI or DVI output on cable boxes is a bad proposition; for some reason the cable box makers have not figured out how to make the HDMI/DVI output work consistently, something that rarely happens with satellite boxes. Use the component output. You will probably not be able to see a difference in picture quality and your problem will disappear. If you liked this solution, please be sure to rate it. Thanks!

Purple tint

Do not put a colour television near a strong magnetic field. I have confirmed from several experts that this has the undesired effect of causing loss of colour
