Ice maker was frozen & we used a hair dryer to defrost and now it

It is a fact that a hair dryer, used judiciously, and an ice pick, also used carefully will do a great job of defrosting. Unfortunately, if Samsung becomes aware of your use of a hair dryer they will claim "Internal damage" which voids your warranty if you have one. Their claim is ludicrous as their own technicians are advised that this action on their part is acceptable. Be aware that Samsung is well known to be a company that rarely supports their customers. Sad but true is the fact that there are currently over twenty five thousand (25,000) complaints on the internet on the subject of Samsung ice makers alone.

Depends on where the bag is stuck at, just frozen or got wrapped around the cube eject mechanism....if its just frozen then get your hair dryer and melt the ice around it. If it's wound around the mechanism you'll have to remove it from the freezer and after you get it out defrost it and just try and pull the plastic out don't pry on it with anything. Most ice makers are really pretty easy to get out, they just plug into the back of the freezer

remove im and look into fill tube,if there is ice in fill tube,defrost with hair dryer and replace selinoid valve at bottom back side of unit.if not frozen replace im

Often I find your ice maker on the Kenmore side by side thefill tube frozen. The fill tube is ablack rubber hose located above and to the right of your ice maker. Those ice makers get stuck from frozen ice portions. Try feeling around to see if anything in the icemaker is frozen up or any foreign object. Please do this with fridge unplugged. If you can't find any frozen or other obstruction then use the hair dryer to defrost the ice maker. This is only a guess from past experiences. My kids once put pop cicle sticks in the ice maker wanting to make ice cube on a stick. Goodluck Google burdfrenzy

the problem with using a hairdryer is that although it defrost what you can see in dont that what you cannot....and youve guessed ....it turns back to ice as soon as you switch it back on ....you have to do a complete defrost(24hours)with the doors open.then dry out with towels then restart.....

usually unplug it but you can also use a hair dryer and defrost the ice chute in the door.

defrost drain is frozen or ice maker is overfilling, to defrost manually remove back panel and defrost drain with hair dryer or hot water, get a towel is will get messy, or just unplug unit and leave both doors open for 24 hours

Use a hair dryer to defrost the tube. It is probably frozen because a leaking water valve. There is also a kit to to add a heater kit to some models. FOr more information call the factory at 800-222-7820.
