Hello - Yes, it does have a child lock control. It is design to prevent children from accidently change the dishwasher cycle or starting the dishwasher. It locks the dishwasher controls by pressing and releasing the DELAY TIME icon for 3 seconds. Do you see an indication lock light on your dishwasher illuminate? It will usually appear when the controls are locked and no new selections can be made until the lock is released. To unlock the controls, press the DELAY TIME icon under the indicator light goes out.

The CONTROL PANEL and/or ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD are broken. Unless you are good with a multimeter and wiring diagram just order both and send back the parts you don't use.

You might have a cellphone with camera option. Set the cellphone co cemera mode, and place the remote control at about 1 feet away from its camera lens, and press each button on your remote control. Remote control emits infrared rys as we press each button, but can't be detected by human eye. Electronic cameras can detect it. If there is any infrared ray emission from your remote control you will see its image on the camera screen for each button press to your remote control. If there is image and still the Tv doesn't respond to it, The TVs' infrared snsor inside has damaged and should be replaced. If there isn't any image; check the battery contacts of the remote battery compartment first. Clean these contacts by using a piece of corborandum paper or with the tip of a razor blade. Improper battery contacts, due to rust and dust to these contacts will prevent the battery supply voltage to enter into the remote contro.
Still it doesn't work at all, the remote control is damged and should be replaced. Contact the nearest Vizio Authorised Service Cente fro original remote control. OK.

Check its battery contacts first. In remote controls, if battery contacts get rusted or dusty, proper battery connection will not occur. If battery contacts are good, check its infrared emission. You can check it with the help of a cellphone with camera option. Put the cellphone to camera mode, and place the remote control just one feet away from its lens, and push each button on the remote control. Eventhough human eye cannot detect infrared rays, electronic cameras can. If there is infrared rays emitting, you can see its image on the cellphone screen. If not, be sure that the remote contro is faulty. If there is infrared image, and still the device you wants to control does not respond; infrared sensor inside your device is faulty, and should be replaced. OK.

if the contro panel lights up but the drum will not turn ,unplug unit remove toe panel and check thermal fuse for the motor right in front has two blue wires going to it

First of all check to see that the control panel is not locked. There is a lock button assigned on the control panel. It should say it next to one of the buttons. Not door locked. You have to hold that button in for 5 - 10 seconds to unlock the panel. If not, you may need a new panel, happens often, its part # 8558753 depending on the color. Thanks Dave www.washermd.com

Hopefully you have resolved your issue. I have not heard of the cancel light flashing issue. I have had problems with the clean light flashing seven times over and over and the control panel will not operate. Here is the solution to that. Maybe it will work for your issue as well.

Open dishwasher door,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button,
Push Saver Dry button,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button again,
Push Saver Dry button again,
All lights on control panel will come on.
Close dishwasher door,
Push Baked on Cookware or Normal Button.
Dishwasher should start and complete cycle.

It is good if you have kids that play video games. Their fingers are used to pushing buttons quickly. I guess this resets the control board. The service guy let me have this info as I used to deliver appliances and work on them somewhat.Hope this helps.
