It's pretty dirty and needs to be cleaned, what's the best way to clean the mechanisms insie? I also need a manual because I'm not quite sure how to use it. How does the carriage advance when I've reached the end of a sentence? I also need a new ribbon and I'm wondering where to get one and how to install it. I'm so excited about this typewriter and the opportunity to get it into good working order. Sara

WHEN WE CLEANED THESE M ACHINES, REMOVE ALL THE RUBBER PARTS, TAKE COVERS OFF AND CLEAN WITH A SOLUTION THAT CLEANS METAL, WATCH OUT SOME DEGREASERS BREAK OR MELT PLASTIC. WE USE TO USE RUBBING ALCOHOL, LET DRY AND LIGHTLY SPRAY WITH A VERY LIGHT OIL, NOT WD40, THAT WILL RUN OFF, HAS TO BE OIL. REPLACE COVERS, AND RUBBER PARTS, TEST IT OUT.
