How do I adjust the day of the week on my Seiko

How do I adjust the day of the week on my men's Seiko self winding watch? The numbers on the back of the watch are 7009-3170. The serial # is 220364. Although the watch is brand new in the box, I believe I bought it in the late 70's or early 80's! There is a tag that reads "Ref. SCWN71K (Cal.7009)."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Hello Bob, Mike D75 here, The day of the week can be changed by pulling out the stem to set, every second time to 12"Oclock--2 O'Clock will cause the day to change.

Setting timex analog mens watch with small window in face of watch indicating day of week, I think

Lots of older watches needed to have the hands advanced 24 hours to advance the date one day. Fortunately most modern watches require the hands to be wound backwards to advance the date, often at the rate of a day per hour. A combination of the backward and forward winding of the hands made adjusting the day and date much simpler and quicker.

A few premium watches had a third position when pulling out the winder, a position dedicated to adjusting the day/date

Seiko instruction adjustment instructions day date

The crown ( the winder as used to be) will pull out one ,two, or three stops. Each stop does somthing different.e.g. 1 - hands, 2 - day, 3 - date. Sometimes, the second stop will do two functions - turn one way for day and the other for date.

I Have a fossil 10 atm watch & the date doesn't change automatically so i change it manually but then half way thought the day it changes the date

Your watch is 12 hours out of step.

The date changes every second time the hour hand passes 12 O'clock.

Your watches' second pass is at midday instead of midnight, so to make it operate correctly, you need to wind it on 12 hours. The date will then change at midnight.

Hello. I have purchased a seiko premier perpetual snp025 watch. From the moment I opened the box the 2nd hand is moving consistently at 2sec intervals and it does not move normally every 1sec. Also the...

Two sec jumps is low power in the elec store,,, winds with movement back and forth as your arm would swing. Sometime the day date function is changed by pressing the small button type crown in slightly with your finger nail.it may have on or two detents if so it adjusts both functions. if not the stemcrown needs to be used to set day and button to set date.

My watch keeps stopping after a few seconds of setting the time but also the part i nthe back which spins seems very loose and makes a noise

Your best bet is to contact Seiko direct as they do have a warranty for 2 years on movement. Best bet is you will have to send in for repair. I would contact them direct. Be prepared with the numbers on the back of the watch as that will ID the watch you have.

Adjusting day/date on a self winding Seiko, 7S2GB

mcdevito75 here, Your stem has 1 positions to set the date easily without haveing to cycle the watch 60 times. First pull the stem out to set the day, set the day 1 day before the day you want, next, push the crown back in, NOW! Slip a finger nail just under the crown from the back as there is more room, it may take some practice so be patiernt and gently, gently lift the crown to it"s first position, once in it"s first position turn the stem and see the DATE change, set the DATE to 1 DATE before the DATE you want, NOW pull the stem out to set the day date and time of day. Your watch is set and the day date will change on time, a little past mid nite.

Need to remove winder on mens seiko titanium so i can remove the

Ensure crown is in neutral position i.e. pressed home (not in set hands posn.) Remove back and adjacent to the winding stem on the movement there should be a small button (may be indicated with an arrow) depress this gently whilst withdrawing the crown and stem from the watch. Ensure you don't engage to set hands position in the process. You might also find a couple of screws securing the movement into the case. P.S. Usually don't need to remove from case to replace battery.

Setting Date. Seiko SGF204 (w/ 7N43 Band) French & English Days.

If you pull out the stem 1/2 way, you set the date one direction, and the day the other. If you pull it out all the way, it moves the hands and sets the time.
