I have an HP 1610 all in one printer that displays an error message that reads, "remove and check right cartridge". I have replaced the black and the color ink cartridges. I have also cleaned the contacts as directed. The error message continues, therefore, I am unable to do any printing jobs. Can someone please assist me with this problem? Thanks.

Some 3rd party cartridges are not perfectly manufactured and in many cases you'll need to press firmly (not hard) on the top front of the cartridge to ensure adequated contact is made wih the electronics on the cartridge and your printer.

hi,
as you are using a refilled cartridge, it is causing this problem. the thickness of ink in a hp genuine cartridge and a refilled cartridge varies. and also the refilled cartridge may make your printer faulty. so it is good to try with a new hp genuine ink cartridges.
thanks and regards

SOURCE: Remove and check color cartridge
the problem is the little poorly designed metal thing that is holding up the ink cartridge get's stuck between the cartridge and the printed circuit and it brakes the circuit.must have been some **** drawering on a napkin that came up with that one.wasted a nice unit for that two cent piece of metal.

i don't know who checks these messages, but I have the exact same problem, also with my mom's printer. it is no longer under warranty so HP wants to charge me thirty dollars for them to tell me how to fix it over the phone. no thanks.
