You don't reveal full model number. It's not likely that a coin is blocking the water. The pump (part of the motor assembly) may be partially blocked inside or a garment (sock, u-shirt, etc.) may be blocking the water inlet to the pump. It's too early to remove the agitator.
Remove the cap off the agitator, flip back the top of the console,
remove any nuts keeping the tub in the console. There will be a clutch
ring that needs to be replaced. I have an older top load washing machine. I agitates, fills, and drains,
but it won't spin. It sounds like it is spinning, but it doesn't. It might be the coupling. That is a 3 piece kit that goes between the
transmission and the motor. I found the directions how to do it over the
internet, got the part and fixed it myself. https://www.structuredsettlement-quotes.com/
Solved: There was a piece of fabric caught in the water drain pump. Opened the cap at the back bottom right of the washer and pulled it out. Worked fine after that.
you may have something stuck in the drain pump......
first try using a wet/dry vacuum attach it to the drain hose and try to **** out what ever you have stuck in there... if that works you are good... if not you will have to get open the cabinet to get to the drain pump
