Water leaking from the bottom of frig

11 year old maytag MSD2756aew. Regularly finding pools of water under the left-side freezer door. Turned off the water to the unit, it still dropped water (when we're not looking of course). The right-side fridge door is warped so that the lower left corner doesn't sit flush against the frame anymore. We thought that a cracked-open door would leak-thru condensation. But it seems that even when we have it shut tightly, it will suddenly drop about 12 oz of water (when we're not looking).

Your  deforst drain is clogged.  Every 12 hours or so your fridge does a deforst cycle.  It melts all of the ice built up on the evap coils.  There is a drain at the back of the fridge that goes to a pan by the compressor where the heat from the compressor and the condensor coils evaporates it.  Take the back panel off of the freezer compartment and plunge out that hole.  You will most likely have a build up of ice over the top of the drain.

I would recommend that you examine the drain hole and remove all visible debris. Pour a mixture made from a teaspoon of baking soda dissolved a 1/2 cup of warm water into the hole. Baking soda is great because it helps to break down the cell walls of plant matter (like any algae living in the drain) and removes smells, too.
Then use a long piece of pipe cleaner to push any remaining debris down into the evaporation tray underneath the refrigerator.

My Maytag side-by-side refrigerator/freezer Leak

There is a pan and drain hose under the freezer coil that is there to catch any water when the freezer goes into defrost. I feel strongly that is where you will find your leak.
I hope this helps.

Water pooling under right front of refrigerator

is there any ice on freezer floor or is the bottom rack iced in?if so you have a blocked drain in the freezer,or if that's ok you could have a crack in one of the plastic water lines, also check the catch pan where the water drains into when the fridge defrosts, you can pour water down the drain in the freezer to check that, roll the fridge forward and take the bottom panel off the back, should be easier to check for leaks and take off the front kick panel, while you're in there vac out all the dust in there, front and back, you should do this every 6 months

Water leaks out the left front. Water seems to pool and freeze in the bottom of the freezer. The leak is not alot but it never stops. Have checked for level have disconected the water and ice maker. Still...

You have a plugged up defrost drain. There should be a drain hole way in back of the freezer, at the bottom. (it should be behind the panel at the back of the freezer compartment) Use a turkey baster with warm water to flush it out until water runs out the hole into the defrost drain pan under the refrigerator.

Maytag side by side fridge freezer leaking water

Your drain plug within the evap area of the freezer is frozen, turn frig off, let sit for day or two with doors open. Once all ice has melted then take rear freezer evap cover off and pour water into try and make sure it drains, if not then unplug drain. This is usually caused by a defrost heater bad or unit not going into defrost when it's supposed to, may be main board.

Water leaking from bottom of unit

For original poster: Check all milky white colored (polyethelne) plastic water lines. These lines tend to get brittle and can crack over a period of time. They extend from the water valve to the ice maker, and from the water valve to the inside of the refrig to a "radiator" so the water can chill, before it runs back out the refrig, past the left side of the refrig behind the bottom grill, through a coupler, and up through the bottom hinge of the freezer door. I'd also advise putting in a separate shut off for the water supply to the refrig so you can have water to the rest of your house when you have a problem with the refrig.

For next user with similar problem: you can check the above, but it may be that the defrost drain is plugged. (on a S x S unit, it is located at the bottom of the freezer compartment, behind the back wall.) If you have a layer of ice on the floor of the freezer, that's a dead give away of a blocked defrost drain tube, Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush it out.

Defrost Problem

there is a drain in the middle of the defrost water collector and it is probably blocked - usually with ice. dry ot the tray and put very hot water in to melt the ice. you may have to do several times. do this until water flows away freely
