Horizontal lines across right side of screen after turning on our Samsung 46" LCD TV, goes away after about 3 minutes. what is causing this and how can it be fixed?
The horizontal lines are thin, and they are at the bottom right 1/4 of the screen. They last for about 3 minutes, then fade away. We bought this tv new and have had it for over 2 years, and have never had any problems until now.The horizontal lines are thin, and they are at the bottom right 1/4 of the screen. Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Line faults to all LCD TVs will be similar, irrespective of its screen size and brand.

t con board failed if its half and half. can also be a lose cable on the screen to the tcon board from the lcd screen side. Tcon is in the middle off the screen on the back.
That of course if all boards have been replaced leaves only a defect that is inside the display panel (front screen unit) which is fatal from a cost point of view----unless one of the boards replaced already is bad.
I had the power board capacitors on my Samsung 46LNA650 checked, and the out-of spec/leaking ones (13 in all) replaced. The horizontal lines disappeared; but, the left side of the panel was dark for about 20 minutes (until warmed-up). I then found this forum/link that solved the problem! This simple fix was probably all that was ever needed - IT WORKS!!!!!!
I have the exact think happening on my Samsung LN46A530 and it has just been 2 years since I bought it. There better be a cheap fix for this because a $2,000 product has to last a lot longer than 2 years.
The problem is most likely in the image processor area, or the backplane circuitry on the screen itself.
The service rep would be equipped to properly service your set. You should call LG to find out who in your area is able to service your set.
If the set is out of warranty it could be fairly expensive to service.
HOW THICK IS THE HORIZONTAL LINE
