My canon power shot A470 is writing card locked whenever i want to shot pictures
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

SD Memory cards have a tiny switch on the edge that marks the memory card as read only and prevents any writes. If you get the message "Card locked!" when you turn the camera on then turn the camera off, eject the SD card. With the card facing you (metal contacts facing away) the switch is on the left hand edge, slide towards the top of the card to make the card read/write again.

you must have a lance problem,so please contact any authorised person for repairs , its may be a lance flap is cracked,

I had this problem too, I think it's the shutter problem, it doesn't close
when a picture is taken, therefore, causing the over exposed photo...I've sent it back to canon, still waiting for the reply...
