Dehumidifier does not remove water from the air.

It sounds like your dehumidifier needs to be professionally cleaned. What could be causing the problem is a buildup on the inside of your dehumidifier where the water drains out and it is causing the water to not drain properly. Additionally, I would check to verify that the drain hole is tightly secured with the plug. I know you stated that the bucket is not leaking but have you removed it to verify? Not up on the unit, but water condenses on the evaporator of an a/c unit dropping onto a tray, as self evaporating, would assume that the drain from that tray is fed to the top of the compresor, which will have a tray around the top, heat from the compressor will evaporate the water, same as with a fridge. In dehumidifier mode, water would need to be collected, rather than evaporated back into the atmosphere, defeats the object other wise. so is lower tank around compressor? that would be for a/c mode upper tank for dehumidifier

In the is a wall to wall carpet, it's going to take a while. If you have a wet/dry shop vac, you can speed up the process by using the shop vac in wet mode. This will remove a great deal of water and then the dehumidifier will take care of the rest. Remember, it it's wall to wall carpet, the pad underneath is soaked too. So the dehumidifier alone, will really be struggling with it for at least 24 hours.

If it's and area rug, vacuum it to. Then drape it up off the floor over a couple of saw horses or wooden chairs, so the the dehumidifier will fit under one end like a tent. That will dry it out with in 4 or 5 hours.

Last solution, borrow another dehumidifier from a friend and run both at the same time.

hello. If your dehumidifier doesn't seem to run often but the humidity in the room is high, try adjusting the humidistat control on the dehumidifier to a dryer setting. If the dehumidifier seems to run constantly, but there's little or no water in the container, there may be a problem in the refrigeration system. Try cleaning the unit. If that doesn't work, you can't repair the refrigeration system yourself, you need a qualified appliance repair technician to do that.
