As there is no menu button at the front panel of this TV, there is no way to select its input selection, without a remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. Check this link and note which brand remote control have set-up codes to your device brand, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability.
It may be a bad sensor on the T.V. and not the remote. However, if you really believe that the remote is broken,

If the channel buttons wont get you to the selected input, you probably have to play in the T.V. menu to see if you can get to the input from there, or just buy the replacement remote.
There is one way to try. I would have your playstation connected to the A/V of your TV. Power up your game. Now try tuning your TV to channel 3 of course. Now, press channel down on TV a few times...You may get an input. I'm not sure if this will help, but try anyway. If this fails, you need to purchase a universal remote with an input selection. I recommend a Philips remote. TV remote model # SRP 1003/27. This number is located just left of the universal price code. I found this remote as one of the best. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!
I just purchased one of these televisions and it didn't come with a remote. However, a Philips Universal Remote (SRU2103/27) with a code 0520 works fine. I haven't explored all the codes but I can easily change from tv stations to Video 1 and Video 2 merely by pressing the "Input" button on the remote.

Another reply mentioned using a duraband model instead of Emerson and it worked for him.
universal remotes are tricky, if you have the pamphlet, often times there are several codes for each brand. you have to try all the emerson codes for your universal even tho the power, volume and channel functions may work with several emerson codes, some of these specialized buttons (like input) may only work on your TV with one specific code.
also, if there are any unlabeled buttons on the universal try them with each new emerson code.
