Maytag side by side refridgerator MSB2354DRW is leaking water, related to ice building up on bottom of freezer compartment. Water appears to be dripping out through bottom of door. Water is dripping from inside back wall of fridge compartment, running down and collecting on bottom of freezer compartment. Is there a problem with auto defrost cycle, or a clogged drain?

Maytag side by side ialso seems to be leaking water from the front freezer side door and puddle on the floor. Seems like also water is coming from vents on lower compartment of freezer and builds up on bottom compartment floor and freezes. Water does drip from the freezer door when there is no build up of water on freezer compartment floor though. What is the solution? Thanks.

You said there is a pluged condenser line. How do I get to it? From inside the refridgerator or the freezer?

The drain tube is clogged or maybe frozen, remove the restriction and you will have no more problem

Sounds like the drainage hole is blocked with ice, i normally take the back cover off the freezer and at the bottom you will see a build up of ice at the bottom, turn freezer off and carefully remove as much ice as you can, then pour some boiling water over the excess ice and in the middle you will see a drain hole make sure water then freely flows down drain hole. Other than that you could try switching your freezer off for 24 hours to clear ice.

My Maytag side-by-side refrigerator/freezer Leak

There is a pan and drain hose under the freezer coil that is there to catch any water when the freezer goes into defrost. I feel strongly that is where you will find your leak.
I hope this helps.

WAS IT LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FROM BOTTOM OF FRIDGE? ONCE IN A WHILE YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE ICE BIN AND DUMP ICE OUT AND CLEAN IT. HOW CAN THE ICE MACHINE OVERFLOW WITH ICE WHEN THE ICE IN THE TRAY WON'T BUDGE? NEED CLARIFICATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD ICE MAKER MODULE OR THE SOLENOID FOR THE ICE ON THE WATER VALVE IS BAD.

Ice build up in bottom of freezer

Check the ice maker. sometimes they get cracked a will leak water into the freezer compartment. Also check the ice maker fill tube for leaks or someone could have spilled something. Although this is tipical of a clogged drain. What happens is when the fridge go into derfost, it will melt all the frost that is on the evaporator, turning it into water. The water drains down to a trough under the evaporator and down a drain hole in the trough ( this trough is behind the evaporator cover ) Removing the melted frost from the freezer. If that drain is clogged, the water cannot leave the freezer. Then when the fridge starts back up ,it will freez the water that was not drained. After repeated defrosting the water will fill this trough and run off into the bottom of the freezer to be frozzen when the fridge starts to cool again.

Ice forming on bottom of freezer section. Water leaking in from back

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

remove back panel inside freezer. you will see drain tray at bottom with a drain hole in the middle - this is blocked usually with ice. melt off with a hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely
