My lens is stuck in the open position. I tried new batteries. When I push the power button I get a little beep, The Cyber-shot screen comes on and immediately disappears.
Lens stuck open...camera will turn on, screen displays for 3 seconds....3 beeps...camera shuts off (can see 'Standby" in display)...new batteries...Panasonic NiMH.
I have just had the same problem. mine was stuck open, i gave the lens a slight twist and heard a bit of a crack. i switched it on again, now it is ok.
My camera's lens was stuck open too! I read someone else's comment about applying a little pressure so I tried it. It worked but be sure the lense completely extends or the picture will be blurry. It worked, I couldn't believe it. It's still working so far.
Okay i had same problem and simple solution is ur batteries conked out i know u think im stating obvious but the batteries u put in whether u replaced em or not r bad there empty basicaly and hav only a bit left to make light flash a bit so replace em with sum new decent batteries or a difernt brand of batteries coz it could be ur camera (my camera ses low even when the batteries r new on some brands and fine with others)

No the camera is not fixed and if I could afford to sign up for a premium assistance plan I would not be looking for a free solution....I'd just pay someone to fix it....

Try a different brand of batteries. Same thing happens to my cam too. Sometimes I try using a different brand, and it works.
You can also try tapping one end of the camera on your palm. Helps sometimes :)

My lens is stuck open and when I would try to turn it on it would make a wierd noise. Then it stopped with the noise and would just blink a green light when I would try to turn it on. Now it won't do anything when I try to turn it on. I am not sure what is going on with it and I could really use some help with it.
Same problem, stuck open and BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. Flipped it over applied a little pressure and a little twist and it started working!! So far so good.
I have the same problem, I put new digital rechargable batteries in I get 3 beebs the lens is stuck open and the camera shuts off. I purchased moore batteries and it still does the same thing.
