Washer stopped during spin cycle

Whirlpool top load stacked washer stopped mid spin cycle and the water has not drained. Have been able to get it started back at the beginning of spin cycle (twice), but it gets stuck at the same spot between spin and rinse. Nothing seems to be stuck, but not sure where to look. The water makes it difficult to troubleshoot. Help!

Hello, try to checked the pump filter, and the pump is actually working. then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump works fine then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Thanks

Water will not go out

does it stop mid cycle? do you hear a hum, like its trying to drain but can't? Something may be stuck in the pump. It may also be the lidswitch if it is just stopping and not doing anything when it's supposed to drain.

Washer stops in mid cycle

This is probably normal. There is a natural pause between agitating and draining, and again between draining and spinning. Hope this helps!

My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.

i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...
