I would hook your laptop up directly to your broadband modem and bypass your router to rule it out. Plug the network cable from your modem into your laptop. Unplug the power on your broadband modem and plug it back in. Restart your laptop and see if you get on-line.

If you can...your router is the issue. If you cannot....I would check with your internet service provider before troubleshooting further.

How do i get my wi fi to work again? i've owned it for 14 months w/no problem. Now it wont connect although i'Ve got the same security (WPA/WPA2 PSK and password,It just working this...

First trouble shoot would be:
Connect your PC directly to the modem and see if you have internet access. If so, then just reboot the router.
If not, unplug the power from the modem and the router.
Plug the power back into the modem and wait 2-3 minutes (to make sure it talks to your service provider. Again - you can connect your PC to the modem and test.)
Then plug in the router and see if that connects (is there a light that indicates connectivity?)
If you did not change anything in your router setup, it should come back up.

If these steps don't solve the issue, please come back here and let me know.

Fingers crossed!

What kind of wifi remote/wireless do I need for a Samsung galaxy tablet?

If you have a combination modem/wireless router you should be able to connect your tablet to the internet. If not, you will need to either buy a wireless router that connects to your modem to broadcast the wireless signal or contact your service provider and get the combination modem/wireless router.

Wi-fi not obtaining IP address and if turn off wi-fi can not get to turn back on

Assuming you're trying to connect via wireless router. If you connect, but then aren't able to get to the Internet. I would something is wrong between the router to the modem to the wall (DSL/Cable modem) rather then your tablet device. You can connect your device to your router and you device will show it has a wifi connection, but beyond the router something may be amiss. Try seeing what you get from another device like computer or laptop. That might get you closer to your actual issue,

Wifi connecting

When creating a connection to internet, you need a point (read : router) which facilitates this. If you don't have a router in your neighbourhood, you can't connect to the internet. Even if there is one near you, you must be able to see it, by checking at your tablet for wireless connections. However, some routers are set to accept only connections, when a user ( your tablet) can provide this password everytime it tries to connect to the internet.

Schematic of internetconnection :

Tablet --- WiFi Router --- Modem --- Internet(provider).

Craig tablet cmp741e

This can be caused by a number of issues most have to do with the router itself and not the tablet. First, let's make sure the router DHCP Server is not frozen so take the following steps:
Step 1: If the router is separate from the Cable or DSL Modem, power down the router/wireless, next power down the cable/dsl modem. Power up the cable/dsl modem wait 60 seconds then power up the router/wireless wait 2 minutes
Step 2: Try to connect to the wireless
Step 3: If you have a modem or wireless router supplied by Comcast, Verizon, AT&T or any major carrier, contact them asking them to walk you through resetting and rebooting and updating the firmware to the router/wireless.
Step 4: After the reset and update try to connect, if it fails move on
Step 5: Log into the wireless/modem - let's change the wireless encryption. Go to the wireless settings, change the wireless settings to WPA Personal and add any pass-phrase. Try to connect using the new pass-phrase.
Step 6: If you still can not connect, as a last resort switch the wirlesss encryption to WPA for testing. Try to connect, if this works contct the vendor and have the modem replaced.

I just got a T301 tablet/ereader. I cannot download books for some reason. Any suggestions. I have no idea what I am doing incorrectly. Thank you

LETS CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION FIRST
Here are the recommended steps to connect to a wireless base router 1. Check and remove power from both your router and the DSL ROUTER/CABLE ROUTER MODEM 2. Wait one complete minute until applying power to modem then wait one minute before applying power to wireless router. 3. Ensure you have green lights across both devices, specifically, the recieved and sent lights. These same lights will tend to blink rapidly when there is active data, at times this will still blink, and a DNS error will prevent you from connecting to the internet. If this is the case, call your ISP Internet service provider 4. Check your authentication Security key on your router first, then check all your wireless devices to ensure they are on the same network name, key, and channel with the same type of encryption as the router 5. Start one device at a time and check for connectivity, if your still experiencing a problem, check the settings on all your wireless adapters, device drivers, internet browser settings, firewalls and proceed. 6. still have problems, connect a rj45 cable from the router directly to your computer to at least see if your wireless settings are bad or if the router may be bad. 7. Contact your ISP to determine if your receiving singal 8. Avoid using a splitter or parital power backup for yours routers 9. Still having problems, change your wireless router only after your ISP changes their faulty modem 10.Attempt the same process when setting up your new wireless router and or modem
