Asus eee 1000 wll not connect to internet, it has picked up the wireless connection but still pages will say cannot connect. Is there a button to turn on?

Can you connect through a "wired" connection? Is your router connected to the Internet? If you're using wireless encryption, have you told your netbook what that encryption key is?

yes! when it comes to wireless networking just make sure that your connection setting are correct just match the settings from your other laptops and do the same to the one you have probles if the persist just do a diognistic check for problems if that doesnt works just hit me back on my link ok!

Ok if its your internet you get the key from the router 192.168.1.1 under wireless settings in your router.

If ts not your personal internet and you want free internet you can take your laptop to a star bucks or a public wifi where you can get internet. See these networks that are locked are locked for a reason because they do not want to be resposiable for illegal activites such as music shareing or unautherised downloads.

So you got a couple choice's here take it to a open wifi like Star bucks or purchase your own internet access and hook up a wireless router- thanks

clear temporary internet files and install tuneup utility increase RAM speed

Hi.....To fix this issue all you have to do is,Re- configure router still if its not working then
1)disable firewall on router and check..
2)disable anti-virus (Norton,Mcafee etc) & check
after this 2 steps (refresh network list connect to your network and check)
3)Confirm the model number & version of your router and check for firmware update.

Is this a laptop on wireless
if so in the taskbar if she right clicks the internet then on wireless connections a page will com up
if there is wireless in range then she can highlight it then click connect.
If no wireless in range then on the left side of that page she will see something like refresh network list she may need to refresh a few times until a wireless will show then again highlight and click connect.

if its wireless internet you want, thn you need to buy a wireless box thingy:P thn connect the blue wire on to it thn tada you have it

What type computer? Wireless network ? FROM the language you are using [" picks up connection"] It is wireless. You may be picking up "outside" signals. When they are weak, you may get something!,then u loose it. Thats why "pending & nothing happens"
