My computers are not recognizing the camera is hooked up with the cable, and thus I can't get the pictures off the camera. I can use a card reader for the ones saved to the memory card, but how do I get the picture saved directly to the camera memory off the camera?

Acer aspire t 180 cant get pc to recognize digital camera photo memory card

Has the computer recognized the memory card in the past? If so, try download and reinstalling the memory card driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If after installing the drivers the reader still does not work, you can purchase a multi format card reader that will plug into you usb port from Tiger Direct for less than $15. at

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site comes up just put in the search at the top "SD Card Reader or XD Card Reader" depending you your type and press GO. You can sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Do you have a USB Cable that came with the camera that you can plug into one of the usb ports on the computer? If so, try that. It's another way of getting pictures off the camera. Plug the cable on the camera and into the computer then turn the camera on. The computer will recognize the camera and install the drivers. You can navigate through the camera folders just like you do any other device to find the pictures.

How do i download pictures from a verizon lg cellphone

There are a number of ways to do it. 1) you can use a cable that plugs into the camera and the other end of the cable plugs into the usb port of the computer. Most camera's come with this cable, if not it's a pretty common cable to purchase for less than $10.00. Once you plug it into both the camera and the computer, turn the camera on and the computer will recognize the usb camera device. You'll have to navigate to where your pictures are but that should be easy just open the folders until you find them. 2) you can buy a usb card reader than handles different types of cards. Remove the card from the camera and place it in the card reader device. Once again your computer will recognize the usb card reader and you can navigate thru the folders to find your pictures. 3) You can email them to yourself then go to the computer and open your emails and save the pictures.

Fuji svp t718 camera will not download pictures to my computer. hooked up usb cable and it just says on camera screen usb connecting. nothing else happens. what can I do?

In order to down load pictures from a digital camera to the computer, you must first load software that allows the computer to recognize your camera. There should be software that came with the camera, and how to load it is in your manual. If you choose not to do this, then you can take the memory card out of the camera and insert it into a card reader attached to your computer and see the pictures on the card.

Pictures will not transfer to computer

The best way to download pictures to a computer is through an optional card reader then there is no problem with the computer not recognizing the camera or downloading the pictures. Using a card reader you would remove the Compact Flash card from your 10D and insert it into the card reader the computer would then recognize it as an external drive. Do not format the memory card in the computer always format in the camera. If you must use the camera as the reader make sure you have plenty of battery power in the camera to do the transfer then turn it off. Have the computer on and connect the USB cable to the computer and the mini USB to the camera. Turn on the camera and the computer depending on you operating system will ether place the camera memory card as a drive on the desk top or you may have to go into your system preferences. Most newer systems the HD icon will appear on the desk top. Which ever system you use make sure you click on the icon when you are finished downloading the images and "eject" the memory card, failing to do this will cause problems with lost files or corrupt the memory card. How do I transfer pictures from my camera to the computer?

images are stored on standard Type I CompactFlash cards. Consider the included 8 MB card a starter capacity, since its 12-picture limit means you'll need to return to your computer often to transfer images and free up the card for more pictures. A 128 MB card is a great size for this camera, storing around 200 images. To transfer images to your computer, simply attach the included USB cable between your PC and your camera. Your computer should automatically recognize your camera and let you move the pictures to your hard drive. Simply click on my computer click on new drive shown in this folder, select all the pictures, copy them and past to your desired location,
you can also copy picture by using card reader, put the SD card in card reader and follow the same procedure
Good luck, do rate the solution if helped

I can't upload pictures from my camera b/c the usb link does not recognize the camera.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

When I install my Memory Stick Pro Duo 8GB in my camera it will format and take and store photos fine 1460 total. I then try to put the Memory stick in my card reader which says it supports this format it...

You need a new memory card reader. The reader isn't supporting the higher capacity of the new Memory stick. For a workaround, hook the camera directly into the computer via USB cable - then the camera itself becomes the reader and can transfer all of the pictures. Look for a reader that specifically does Memory Stick PRO Duo sticks, the PRO means the higher capacity.

Canon powershot sd1000 malfunction

If the camera is not recognized on any other computers it's hooked up to either, your best bet is to take the SD card out, put it in a card reader, and plug that into your computer. If the card still works, you should be able to pull all of your pictures off--probably way faster than using the data cable too.
If your card is an SDHC card, make sure your reader can read SDHC. Most laptops made in the last 3 years have card readers, but they might not read SDHC cards. You should be able to pick one up for $5-10 at the store.

My DMC-f27 suddenly quit being recognized by computer

Hi,

First, make sure both ends of the USB cable are firmly connected to the computer and camera.
If no screen pops up asking to select PICTBRIDGE or PC, then there might be a problem with the cable.

I would suggest getting a card reader instead to download pictures. They are many times faster than USB cable, and they aren't too expensive. ($10.00-$70.00).

I recommend this card reader.
