Have a Kenmore Elite top loading machine and the water starts to fill the drum and it empties out as it fills, so the drum only fills half way. No agitation or spin. Because it just sits there with the water coming in and emptying.

the water level control has gone bad,its located in the top of the washer control panel,four philips head screws gets you in there,make sure you unplug the machine,it has a rubber hose,and four clip on wires,one 1/4 inch screw holds it in place,its job is,it works off of air pressure from the rubber hose that comes from the washer drum,if it don"t read the back pressure from the drum being filled it will over flow.good luck

Possibly your problem is the tube that tells the machine when the water is full. It may be blocked.

The mixing value is leaking. I ordered a new one and will replace it.

Your incoming water valve has gone bad.That is the valve the water hoses connect to. It will have to be replaced.

your fill valve is stuck open replace fill valve

replace fill valve under top rear left easy fix dont wait it call flood your house

replace bad fill valve its bleeding throw under top left rear easy

its a inlet water supply error code check your cold fill line and fill screens at cold fill valve for block

Remove the 3 screws at the back of the machine that hold the top on. pull back on the top and lift the top off. Remove the hose from the inlet valve and remove the screw that holds the inlet valve.
