Check to make sure your wireless card is enabled in the BIOS. hit f10 or the toggle switch @ startup. go to Devices in the BIOS and check to make sure both options for your wireless card are turned on. I had this issue with the tc1100 with the 2200bg intel wifi card.
Check Device Manager to see if the wireless card is working and enabled.
Then check the wireless card settings, has it been configured with the wireless router's SSID and encryptions settings etc.?
Check the wireless card's signal strength of the wireless router.
Are there other wireless routers in your area broadcasting on the same channel?
First of all, uninstall the wireless driver and reinstall it after restarting your system. If that doesn't help, then follow the hp wireless troubleshooting tutorial If you want to try a fresh setup, please check out here.. wireless connection tutorial Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

You use Q-Menu to turn on or off WLAN. Go to HP and download/install Q-Menu:
