Hi,
after looking through my photos from last night, ive noticed a long black line at the bottom of the screen, it dosent affect the photos when uploaded, but its quite strange and ive never seen it before.
Ive always kept my camera in great condition and other than that everything is working fine,
can you find a way to get rid of it please?
Thanks,
Pearl McGrattan

It is a bad ccd it need to be replaced some time you can get lucky by resetting the camera in the setup menu. When you take a picture the image is transmitted throught the ccd and translates the image to the cameras memory. It can be fixed. Or you can upgraded. Some places might offer a trade in value on your camera even if it is broke.

Try your camera on another computer. This will illiminate any issues with the camera's USB port, or its set-up.
I would think you tried other USB ports on the computer.
Another thing to look at is in the set-up of the camera, that the USB port from the camera is set to work as a vertual drive if this is what you want.
If you are using the camera with its own computer software utility and using it as an intergal operation with its software, there may be a set-up issue with the software, or there may be some corruption in the software installation. This can also be a corrupted driver.
An easy way to get the photos out of any camera is to invest in a USB card reader that is compatible to the memory card in the camera. You can remove the card from the camera and put it in to the reader to download the pictures to the computer. The card would appear as a vertual disk on the computer.
