You could have a lid magnet out of position. Quick check for that is to place a magnet over the left bumper with the lid raised and see if the OP error code clears.

i have an error code OP what should i do - 73da977.jpg

If it does you need to remove the inner panel of the lid to access the lid magnet see page 32 of the Service Manual for the procedure.

If the external magnet doesn’t clear the OP error code you will have to start troubleshooting the Left Hand Lid Lock. You could have severe corrosion with and an open lead on the magnetic reed switch in the Left Hand Lid lock. Link to replacement Left Hand Lid Lock

See this post Left Hand Lid Lock Troubleshooting for further info. I discuss troubleshooting the OD error code but you troubleshoot the OP error code the same way……Rich

"OP" what is the meaning of this code refrigerator frigidaire

Good Morning friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire refrigerator is displaying an "OP" error code and you want to know what it means. An "OP" could stand for open thermistor. This could be a possible problem with your thermistor or control panel. In any case that it is a false error code I would recommend performing a reset on your refrigerator and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for roughly ten minutes. If that does not help resolve your issue I would suggest consulting with a professional technician for proper diagnosis. Hopefully this is helpful information. -Matt

OP ERROR CODE FOR ELECTROLUX REF

Hello scarter517 - Typically error code OP indicates that the freezer sensor is in an open position. A professional would need to check the wiring between the thermistor and board. If correct, the thermistor may possibly need replacing.

I have maytag neptune tl,i moving3 week ago i do a coneccion and a have a cod en tha machine OP,and dont do nothing.

Sorry should read ""Confirm the model number and the 1st two digits if the serial number and I will see if I can help. Is the machine a FAV6800A or FAV9800A? Any error unbalance codes during the spin cycle like dc or UC? ""

You have lost signaling thru the left hand lid lock or have a lid magnet out of posistion.

With the lid open try placing a magnet over the left hand grey lid bumper with the lid open.

If the OP error code clears then it's a Lid Magnet issue. If the OP error code dosen't clear we need to troubleshoot the Left Hand lid lock or replace. I prefer to troubleshoot further before buying a part. Let me know what you want to do. If you want to troubleshoot/DIY the repair we need to move your issue to a better DIY appliance repair forum. Try the external magnet first and rule out a Lid Magnet out of position issue.

See pics;

See if an external magnet over the left grey lid bumper will clear the OP error code.

Maytag top load washer op error code, washer wont start. Checked and magnet is in place, what else can it be?

If you place a couple magnets over the left gray bumper and the "OP" error code doesn't clear then I feel you have a problem with the Left Hand Lid Lock.

Display shows OP but unable to clear , checked out switch, 1 contact pin was heavily corroded. I polished it up but made no difference

If you place a magnet over the left hand grey bumper will this clear the OP error code with the washer lid up? If so you have a lid magnet out of position.
See page 35 of the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for the location.

Did you remove the left hand lid lock cover and inspect the connections on the magnetic reed relay?

Check to see if the leads on the magnetic reed relay are connected. This pic shows the black lead broken from one end of the magnetic reed relay. This will produce loss of signaling to the Control Board and generate an OP error code.

I discuss troubleshooting for the OD error code. You troubleshoot the OP error code in a similar fashion.

OP error code. What is wrong with my Hayward pool

OP is the error code for a faulty Temperature Sensor. Try replacing the Temperature Sensor. I have seen many of these units have the wires chewed up by mice, etc., so you may want to check the wiring for any damage.

You could have a Lid Magnet out of position or severe corrosion. You can place a large magnet over the Left bumper like this and see if the OP error code clears;

See this post for troubleshooting the OP error code Left Hand Lid Lock Troubleshooting I go over OD error code troubleshooting but you troubleshoot the issue the same way for the OP error code.

If the Lid Magnet is not out of position you may have an open circuit thru the Magnetic Reed Relay as shown in the Pics of this link Left Hand Lid Lock Troubleshooting.

Why does it say "op" when i press the start button?

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

I feel you have lost signaling from the Left Hand Lid Lock for Lid is Open/ Lid is Closed.

First check is to place a magnet over the Left Hand grey bumper and while watching the LED display see if the OP error code clears. If it does you have a lid magnet out of position. See the Service Manual for access to the Lid Magnet.

See Pic;

If an external magnet over the Left Hand grey bumper doesn’t clear the OP error code with the lid open then See this Link for troubleshooting Left Hand Lid Lock Troubleshooting. I discuss the OD error code but the OP error code troubleshooting is very similar. If the lid Magnet is not out of position then I feel you have a broken lead at the Magnetic Reed relay or severe corrosion issues with the Left Hand Lid Lock preventing Lid Open/Lid Closed status signaling to the Control Board in the Console.

The washer is stuck locked. When turned on it shows OP where the minutes are!! PLEASE HELP !!

Don’t force the lid open and break the lid locks.

Here is the Service Manual and parts look up;

FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Use this procedure for releasing the washer top from the base;

Un plug the 120VAC power cord to the washer.

To raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. See page 33 of the SM for putty knife insertion point.

Here is the pic from page 33.c4f9327.jpg

This will get the clothes out.

With the washer top raised gently push to Left and Right lid lock latches to outside of the lid the unlock position.

You can now lower the washer top to the base.

Do you want to DIY the OP error code?

The OP error code could be caused by a Lid Magnet out of position. To do a quick check with the lid open power up the washer. Do you have the OP error code showing? If so take a large magnet and place it over the grey left lid bumper and see if the OP error code will clear the LED display. A Pic for reference;

If that doesn’t clear the OP error code we would need to do deeper troubleshooting. Are you up for that? Let me know……Rich
