My unit is working properly; however it is leaking. The leak is not immeadiate, so I do not think it is a problem with the coils. I have also removed and cleaned the filter.

Try to blow into the drain line from outside to clear the line if you don't want to take apart the evaporator. Also check for level of evaporator. If this does not help you your unit could be low on charge and could be starting to freeze. More likely to be a drain problem. hope this helps you.

My son has aq 1997 Firebird. The temp guage keeps showing the engine overheating. The car then shuts down, and will restart immeadiately. When we check the engine it does not feel over hot, It does mnot...

If the engine still has water in it and it is not leaking then replace the tempture sending unit. Just make sure that it is not running hot and make sure that the water is circulating it could also be needing a cooling system flush. But it is hard to say without seeing the car just make sure that the water level has not gone down and if it has a coolent recovery tank make sure that the hose that connects the tank to the radeator is not leaking and that the tank is also not leaking.

My ac unit is leaking through the coil box, I cleaned the drain, but it still leaks from the side of the box. Could it be cracked? the unit is 9 yrs old

Could be a cracked condensate pan. this may require replacing the pan or there are sealing sprays on the market which you can buy at HVAC stores.

Outside central air conditioning unit not working, is there a reset button?

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. The first thing to check is the filter in the furnace or air handler. Also check the inside coil to be sure its not frozen up. Does the air coming out feel cold? It sounds like the unit could be low on charge which means it has a leak and should be leak checked repaired and properly charged. You would need refrigeration gauges to put on the system in order to properly check the refrigerant charge in the system. One other thing could be a dirty condenser coil. Turn the power off to the unit and use a garden hose with a strong nozzle and spray water through the whole coil to try and blow any dirt or debris through the condenser coil in the outside unit.

Low cooling, s/n 1398877120

Hello,if the unit will not cool properly than it either has low airflow or a leak. First check the filter, evaporator coil, and make sure they are clean.....if the evap coil is dirty you can purchase some coil cleaner and spray it on the evaporator. If the airflow checks out good than most likely the unit has a leak and must be reapired and charged back up with refrigerant.

Inside unit has leak. would it be best to replace complete unit or just the leaking coil. .

If it is a very small leak there are products made that can be put in the system through the suction sideYou will probably have to go to a hvac supply outlet to find them and if it is more than a tiny leak they won't work.
I would replace the entire unit as you will spend close to the same amount to cover all the extra labor to replace just the coil.Good luck and thank you.

My a/c unit get ice on coils

Hello, usually the unit will develop ice on the coil if there is not enough airflow, a dirty coil or dirty filter which prevents proper airflow. You can buy coil cleaner at a heating and cooling store and spray it on the coil, it should do the trick. If that does not work then the unit has a low refrigerant charge due to a leak.

My samsung unit was leaking water from the inside unit and then it stopped working

Thanks for your detailed statement as stopped working after water leak.

Water leak due to

It's because of non-maintained air conditioner. Clean airfilter, indoor coil, blower wheel and also drain pan. Insulate freon pipelinesproperly and tightly. After that run the a/c. If still water dripping. Checkindoor f.motor speed. If less replace capacitor. If f.m. is o.k, check gaspressure. If less, there will be ice formation over the coil and water drippingwill be there when it melting. If short of gas, check for leak andrectify. (Unit stopped as coil sensor is activated while ice forming over coil)Thanks. Helpful?

I need to find a leak in my Carrier Air Central Air cond. I'm thinking it may be the A-coil as it keeps freezing up. Can I use compressed air and soap/water spray around the A-coil to check for leaks?

You cannot use compressed air as it will introduce moisture into the system. You can use dry nitrogen. Prior to searching, look your system over and look for oil.........oil will leak out with the refrigerant and often times you will notice the oil collected in the area near the leak. After pressurizing with dry nitrogen, you can use a soapy mixture to search for the leak. Leaks in the A-coils are commonly found near the tube sheets; however, they could be anywhere in the coil. Good Luck in Your Endeavor!!! :-)
